Doctor's POV We rolled Erika into the OR to begin surgery. Since she had limited time we decided to start the surgery before the organs arrived so that she had the best chance at survival.
We got ready and made the first cut. We got word the organs were 5 minutes away so we put Erika on the heart bypass machine. (If you don't know what that is its just a machine that acts as a heart when the doctor do surgery on the heart)
Once that was finished the heart was brought up to us. I worked as fast as I could and finished with the heart. We did the same thing for the lungs. When we were finished I stitched up the incision. Now only time will tell what happens.
The nurses wheeled Erika out into the recovery room. Now I need to go inform Jake on what happened. When I walk into the waiting room I am greeted by a very anxious Jake pacing back and forth. When he spots me he runs up to me.
J: Is she ok. Is she alive? D: Calm down. The surgery went as planned. Everything went great and I expect her to be awake in around 4 hours based on how much medicine the anesthesiologist gave her. You may go see her if you'd like. But beware she has lots of wires around her.
Jake's POV I am so happy that she is alright. I knew she was strong and that she would make it threw. I walked into the room and saw this

It broke my heart to see her hooked up to so many wires. I wanted to do something. I wanted to help.
Erika's POV I woke up with a huge pain in my chest and I couldn't move. I felt someone holding my hand. I wanted to move so I squeezed the hand I was holding. Seconds later I heard the voice of Jake. He pulled his hand away and it sounded like he went outside. He came back 5 minuets later with what sounded like 2 other people.
D: Erika If you can hear me give me a thumbs up.
I gave the doctor a thumbs up and he gasped.
D: It really is a miracle. Erika I want you to know you are a miracle.
I could finally open my eyes so I didn't and I saw Jake sitting next to me kn a chair and the doctor standing right next to him.
I was so happy I was alive. I really was a miracle.
