A Couple of Months Later

Addilyn's POV

Oh hey there! It's been a while. Let me catch you up.

So Chad and Kimberly got together, just to break up. Soon after that party, Chad asked her out and of course she said yes. They were going strong for a while until it all crumbled. Kim's jealousy got in the way and they had some trust issues. They avoid each other at all cost which made things a bit tricky because Chad is always with Jack so it is rare that just Kim, Jack, and I hang out just us.

While Kim went through her heartbreak, which didn't take very long, we kinda became distant. We were still best friends but not as close as we were. She went her separate for a little bit which I don't blame her. She says she's fine now and is ready to go back to how it was but I still feel like something is off.

While Kim took her little break, I had a lot more free time. Junior year is almost over and  I filled it with spending time with Jack and finally starting on my dream of modeling. I got my headshots done and the first agency I went to were so eager to sign me. So now I have an agent to guide me through this.

And lastly, what you're most eager to hear about - Jack. Jack and I are good, actually great. We do pretty much everything together. When we are not going on special dates or anything too fancy, we usually just hang out at one of our houses. When I'm over at his the board games come out and Isla joins us. I love watching Jack with her. He will definitely be a great dad someday. Watching movies is typically the activity we do at my house. But lately we seem to do absolutely nothing.

Literally, nothing. We'll be in his room, laying on his bed and just lay there cuddled up. Sometimes we don't even talk, not until I realize how awkward it is and laugh.

Jack has also started to get more into music. He said that he is gonna work even harder during the summer since he will have more time. He shows some real potential. I love when he sings to me during those cuddling sessions. It's always amazing being around him.

But yeah, you're basically caught up.

So today Kim and I are going shopping for our junior prom dresses. We have been thinking about this since the summer and it's finally here. She's gonna meet me at my locker at the end of school and we're gonna head straight to the mall. Only one more hour to go. I've saved up so much money for this so I have no limit.

The hour pass pretty quickly and I headed straight to my locker. I put everything away and packed my backpack as quickly as I could. I shut my locker and stood there waiting for Kim.

Jack saw me as he was walking out and came up to me. "Is today the day?" Jack asked. I've practically counted down for this day. "Yes, indeed it is." I smiled. He gave me a quick kiss and walked out of the school with his friends.

Kimberly was taking a longer time than usual but eventually she arrived. "Kim!! Are you excited?!" She didn't smile, and she definitely didn't look excited.

"Umm Addilyn, I don't really feel good. I don't think I can go with you today."

"Aww really? That's fine. We can go another day."

"No, you should go. I know how important this is to you."

"It's not important if it's not with."

Kim was determined for me to go without her and after a few back and forth I said I would. It felt wrong to go without her but she said she was fine with it.

She drove me home and I changed clothes real quick. Then I got in my car and drove to the mall.
