[COMPLETED] It has been over year since I have last seen him, those curls, those dark eyes. And now I was meeting him again, but this time it was as his best friend's girlfriend.
Addilyn and Jack had a rocky relationship. After leaving things unset...
After a quick breakfast, I took an Uber back to my apartment to get ready for my beach date. I spotted Wilma on the couch as I walked in.
"Look who decided to come home." I just gave her a sheepishly smile. "How was last night?" she said with a big smirk. "Uh, it was actually really good... for the most part." "For the most part?" "Yeah, it was good." I have never told Wilma or Justin about Jack and I don't think I was going to anytime soon. "I'm actually going back out in a little." "Oh really? Where to?" Wilma is a very curious bean, always asking questions. "Just to the beach. And before you ask, I'm going with Daniel." "Okay then. Have fun, but not too much fun." She gave me a wink and I shook my head.
I went to my room to get ready. I first needed a shower, especially after wearing Jack's sweatpants.
After my shower, I let my hair air dry and grabbed a bathing suit out of my dresser.
I also picked out some shorts and a shirt to wear over it. I didn't apply any makeup since I would probably be in the water most of the time.
I was still a little hungry after breakfast so I packed my essentials in my beach bag and headed to the kitchen for a snack. I was looking through the cabinets when I got a text from Daniel. It said that he was here already. I grabbed a few granola bars, said bye to Wilma, and rushed down to the Uber.
Every time I see Daniel he always tries to come up with a different pet name to say hi. "Hey there, honeybun" he said as I got in the car. I couldn't help but laugh. "Honeybun? That's the best one you could think of." He chuckles. "I think it fits you well because you're so sweet." Daniel is cheesy but I think it just makes him more adorable.
We arrived at the beach pretty quickly. The second we were out of the car our fingers were intertwined. He lead me down to the sand where we already had a little territory set up. He had beach chairs set up and a blanket stretched out with a cooler pinning it down.
There was also two surfboards. I hope he wasn't going to get me to try to surf because I would drown. Drowning would be an interesting way to end a date though.
"Wow, Daniel. I see that you've already set up shop." "What can I say, I had a little free time." I placed my bag on the blanket. I didn't hesitate to take off the clothes on top of my bathing suit, revealing my nude pink bikini.

Daniel's swim trunks were in his favorite color to wear, black. He caught me staring at his six pack and laughed. "My eyes are up here" he said with a grin. "Yeah, I know. I'll look at those later."
Before doing anything else, we needed sunblock on. This sun is harsh and I can't deal with another sunburn. Daniel offered to put some on my back.
I felt his soft hands as he smeared the sunblock on my skin. I did his back once he was done with mine.
He turned around and just stared at me with a really weird expression. After a minute of silence he yelled, "last one time the ocean is a rotten egg!" and took off running towards the waves.
"Not fair!" I yelled as I chased after him. I started splashing him when I made it to the water. It was a full on war in the water.
Daniel dived under the water as I kept splashing him. Suddenly I felt hands wrap around my thighs and I was lifted up quickly. Daniel threw me over his shoulder as he stood up in the water. He started spinning me around as I squealed.
"Daniel, put me down!" I said shouted through my giggle.
After a little longer, Daniel finally set me down. That water war took a lot of energy out of me so I surrendered.
We stayed in the water just swimming around until Daniel mentioned my favorite activity, eating. We rushed out of the water over the blanket where the cooler was. He pulled out some sandwiches and some waters. There was also a couple of bags of chips.
I started stuffing my face with the food, not really trying to look cute. Daniel has already seen me eat plenty of times so he was use to my pig actions.
After finishing our lunch, we took seats in the beach chairs, enjoying the feeling of the sun's rays on our skin. Daniel put on his sunglasses and I just closed my eyes as we took part in a random conversation.
I had no interest in opening my eyes until Daniel said, "Is that Jack?" I looked up to see Jack and Jonah walking down the beach in our direction.
"I think so." I responded back, trying to hold back my attitude. Of course Jack would have to show up. I rolled my eyes as I watched them get closer.
"Hey guys" Jonah greeted as they approached us. "Hey dudes. What are you guys doin' out here?" Daniel questioned. He got up to talk to them, of course giving them the bro handshake thing. "We got a little bored so Jack suggested we head to the beach" Jonah explained.
That little shit, I thought. Jack heard our plans this morning and decided to crash our date. What a douche.
I smiled towards Jonah as he waved and then glared at Jack. "Have you taken those boards out yet?" Jonah asked, nodding his head towards the surfboards. "Nah, not yet. Wanna go out now?" Daniel asked Jonah. After Jonah accepted his offer, Daniel looked at me to make sure it was okay. I gave him a thumbs up and they headed back to the ocean. Now it was just Jack and I. Great.
❁ ❁ ❁ So I was reading some of the old chapters and then I realized I made a big mistake. At the beginning, it says that her dad died but then he appears later in the story. So, the dad that appears in the story is her step-dad that she's really close to. Sorry if that confused anyone.
