Addilyn's POV
My arms were full of binders and folders and I was struggling to get my math binder out when a curly headed cutie came over.
He just stood there leaning against the lockers facing me. He didn't say anything, he just stared. Deciding to break the silence, I spoke first.
"Uhhhh, hello?"
"Oh hey. Didn't see you there," he said with a smug smile. You have literally been staring at me for like 5 minutes, I thought, I know you saw me.
"Yeah, I bet. Can I help you?"
"Actually, you can. How kind of you to ask." He didn't go on to say what he needed help with, he just kept staring. "Well, what do you need help with?" I asked.
"I need help getting to know you better," be replied with a big grin.
"Oh yeah? And how do you suggest I help you with that?" I questioned.
"The answer is quite simple. Go on a date with me." I couldn't help but laugh. He looked confused at my amusement. "What? What's so funny?" he asked, giving a nervous chuckle.
"I don't know what's funnier, Jack Avery asking me out, or your flirting."
"Wait, you know who I am?" he questioned.
"Yeah, of course I know who Jack Avery is. Everyone knows who you are." He didn't seem as cocky as I thought he would be about being someone everyone knows. If anything, he looked kind of embarrassed.
Jack's POV
"Everyone knows who you are," Addilyn stated. Oh gosh, I thought, I wonder what kind of things she's heard of me. When I didn't respond, she kep the conversation going. "The real question is do you even know who I am"
"Of course I do," I said, "I wouldn't be asking a complete stranger, Addilyn."
"What's my last name?" she asked quickly.
Ummmm, it is..... Johnson." It sounded more like a question instead of an answer. She shook her head in disappointment.
"No, it's not. See, you basically are asking out a stranger."
"Well how am I supposed to know if you won't go out with me?" I asked with a smirk. She took her phone out of her pocket and looked at the time. "Class is going to start soon. I better be going." She shut her locker.
"You still haven't answered my question."
"I'll think about it. But no promises."
"Okay then. It wasn't a no. That's good enough for me." After my comment she gave a smile and started walking off, to class I assume.
Addilyn's POV
As I walked to class I kept replaying what just happened in my head. THE Jack Avery just asked me out. The school's most popular kid was into me. Or was he? He didn't have the best track record with girls. Not necessarily a cheater or bad boy but could never keep a long term relationship. The sound of the bell brought me out of my thoughts.
