Addilyn's POV

Today started off as a regular Monday. I woke up at the same time as usual and got ready. Kim picked me up and we went to Starbucks for breakfast and coffee, then we were off to school. Every class was pretty normal. The only class I dreaded going to was history because I didn't finish my homework. It was all Jack's fault but I don't think my teacher wanted to hear that. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. My teacher gave me until tomorrow to finish it.

Things got interesting when studyhall came around. I took my seat and started doing my homework when I heard talking. I didn't look up but I knew it was my study hall teacher talking to some kid. "Switched classes? You can take that empty seat over there." I looked to see where she was pointing and to see who would be filling the seat. First thing I noticed when I looked up were the curls. Those luscious curls that only belonged to Jack Avery. His new seat? One row over and one seat back from me. My eyes followed him as he walked to his seat. As he was walking down his row he saw me and smirked. He mouth "hey babe" as he took his seat. I gave a big smile and turned around before he saw me blushing. Right away I got a text from Kim, who was sitting across the room from me.

Kimmy: Omg! This is a dream come true!!

Me: My dream wasn't for Jack to be in my studyhall.

Kimmy: ik. It was my dream ;)

I looked over at her and rolled my eyes. I finished my history homework during the rest of study hall. The bell rang and I was off to the remainder of my classes.

When the end of the day came I met Kim by my locker. I stuffed all my binders in my backpack and talked to her. "So what did you do yesterday?" she asked. I completely forgot to tell her about my Sunday.

"Oh nothing special," I said slowly becoming quieter, "just hung out with Jack."

"Did you just say what I think you did?!"

"Depends. What did you hear?" I said smirking.

"OMG!!! You hung out with Jack again after your guys's date!! And you didn't tell me. Wow." Right as she said that my friend Hailey came over.

"Oooh did I just hear you went on a date?" She asked.

"Yes, you did. Kim over here has a big mouth." Kim rolled her eyes.

The questioning kept going. "With whom?" Hailey asked. I know that Jack and Hailey once went on a date so I didn't know if I should bring him up or not. We aren't the best of friends so I didn't know how she would feel about it.

"Jack Avery." I brought it up anyways.

"Oh cool. Just be careful with him."

"What do you mean?" I was starting to get confused.

"He's a nice friend and everything but he totally plays girls." This conversation had suddenly gotten interesting.

"How so?" Kim was also intrigued by the news.

"Well on our first date he said he was taking me someplace really special to him but little did I know he took all his dates there. And then the next day he wanted hang out which evolved into us just making out the whole time. After that he just dropped me."

"And where was this special place?" I questioned, fearing the answer.

"Some skate park." Her words described the past weekend perfectly. Does this mean he's gonna just drop me too? I wonder who else he took there? Did he just want me for my body? I was starting to get very frustrated. How could he be such a douchebag? All these worries started to go through my head and I became more angry. Then, I saw Jack out of the corner of my eyes. He was walking down the hallway towards me. As he approached I slammed my locker shut and started to walk out of the school. I heard him calling my name. "Yo Addilyn! Wait up!" I kept going, not wanting to socialize with him anymore.

I reached the school parking lot when he finally caught up and grabbed my arm, completely stopping me. "Hey Addilyn, what's your problem? I've been calling your name for a while." He sounded a little concerned but tried to play it off.

"What's my problem?" I asked rhetorically. "You're my problem. I can't believe I would ever believe some douchebag like you." I tried to walk off but he stopped me again.

"First of all, ow. Second of all, what are you talking about?" His eyes showed confusion.

"I shouldn't have believed you when you said I was important to you."

"You are important to me. I don't understand what the problem is."

"The problem is I am as important to you as all the other girls in this school. Which isn't very important since you take all of them to same place and tell them the same things just to get in their pants." I full on yelled at him, hurt filling my voice. I walked over to Kim's car, realizing that she still had the keys and the car was locked. Jack followed close behind.

"Addilyn, you are special to me. Yeah, I'll admit that I take all those other girls to the same skate park but that's only because I'm just trying to find out if they are worth my time. And you are definitely worth it. That's why I extended it after, something I don't do with other girls." I could tell he was really trying to convince me but his words didn't help me feel any better. At this point I was becoming irritated by his efforts and this whole situation.

"You may have extended the first date but what about the day after. You claim to want to hang out and then you turn it into some makeout session. And you do this with all the others too! And how can I believe that you didn't buy Hailey McDonald's? Exactly I can't because all you ever do is lie." The anger was starting to fade and the tears started to develop. I decided to walk home when there was no sign of Kim showing up soon. I started walking off in the direction of my house.

"Wait Addilyn. Just let me ex..." I cut him off.

"No, stop. Let me save you the trouble of the inevitable. You have officially dropped me. YOU dropped ME and you can tell people exactly that. I wouldn't want to hurt your title at this stupid school." I started speed walking and this time he didn't chase after. As I got further I could hear him yelling in anger. I tried not to but I glanced back and he threw his backpack at some random car. Hope he has insurance, I thought.
