The team was squished into the small bus. The bioship has crashed, to the point that M'gann couldn't fix it fast enough to get to mount justice in at least the next week. So they trudged through the woods to get to the nearest town, and onto a bus to Happy Harbor.
Superboy and Megan sat together in a seat, Superboy having dozed off on the window.
Kaldur and Wally sat together, Wally refusing to sit still. Causing the Atlantean no sleep.
Robin and Zatanna sat together as well, playing cards Zatanna had in her pocket. And finally, Artemis. They were all seated in the back of the bus, and all the seats were filled. So she stood. It wasn't a big deal really.
What was a big deal, was the fact that people were giving them the weirdest looks. The mud thankfully disguised most of their uniform, but Artemis was wondering whether that makes them look better or worse. The poor Archer has gotten the worst part of the battle, having being thrown into a tree, particularly on her knee, and got blasted with a heat blast when Kid Flash got scared and threw her into the way instead of him.
She stood on the two hour long ride, getting more exhausted by the minute. They were half and hour in, and she yawned wrapping the blanket that she had grabbed from the bioship after the crash around her tighter.
She couldn't wait to get to the mountain. She'd bolt for the showers first. The longing for the sensation of hot water on her back was about the only thing that was going to keep her standing.
Kaldur observed the team, making sure they were alright. It had been a pretty hard mission, but the team managed a success, putting ten villains that were about one more heist away from the bottom of the most wanted list, in jail. Zatanna was giggling at Robins hopeless attempt to get her to admit she cheated (even though she didn't). Megan was lost deep in thought, probably thinking about the new recipe of cookies she wanted to make.
Superboy still dozed off, his head occasionally slamming against the window, not managing to wake the clone.
He looked to Artemis, who looked close to dozing off herself. He saw the exhaustion in her eyes. He hair had fallen out of the ponytail, and he was confused as to why she hadn't fixed it. The hair in her face had to be bothering her.
And Wally was being the utmost annoying, tapping his foot against the floor at an almost inhuman speed. "Kid Flash, I advise you stop, before you attract too much attention."
"You just said my superhero name out loud, so if your trying to hide the fact that we're heroes, it's not working." He said.
"I'm not worried about that. But I would like to not draw too much attention, as it is not going to benefit us." Kaldur answered back.
"I can't sit still. I mean we just did a mission! Usually we'd be back at the cave so I could warm down by now!" He complained.
Kaldur glanced back at Artemis. "Then maybe you should let our friend sit down." He added.
"Uh, I said I wanted to move, not stand up. If anything that will be worse." He said.
Kaldur gave him a glare.Kid Flash looked back at blondie. She didn't need to sit down. But she did look tired. And she was hit into a tree....no! She can stand, she always calls him names. This is karma.
Then he saw her fall asleep, and catch herself standing up, before she passed out on the floor. She rubbed her eyes, as if it would do anything.
He turned around to Kaldur. "Fine."
Kaldur smiled.
