Ambrosia POV^^^^^       August 10

"Jathos, please" I felt amazing, every nerve in my body was electrified. Jathos knew how to melt my body into his hands.

"Come on baby, I know you can last more than this. Just hold it for a few seconds. Yeah, that's it, baby, show me how I make you lose yourself." I felt like I was on a rocket flying 300 mph towards space, no stops, no detours. To me, he was an escape.

My life hasn't been the happiest. I never knew my parents, all I know is that they're water demons, but that's completely useless considering how many water demons are slaves. I had started out in an auction house like everyone else, my first memory is of blinding white lights my first time on a stage.

I don't remember much of it, but I do remember that no one bought me. Who would anyway? I was only 100 years old, I couldn't do what they wanted me to do. Every year I would go up again on that stage, and every year it was the same result. Until I was 300 years old.

Since I was 'legal' they could whatever they wanted with me. I wasn't bought by anyone, but the auctioneers would do horrible things. They didn't rape me, but they might as well have. If I didn't get bought, which I never did, they would use me for their pleasure. At first, they just touched me, but as time went on they would take my hands and make me touch them. I hated them, I wanted them dead. But I couldn't do anything about it, and it's not like I really would do it.

"Baby, where did you go?" I came down from my thoughts and saw Jathos looking at me like I hung the moon and stars, Selene and Asteria must be jealous. His face came right up to mine, he didn't kiss me like I wanted him to, but his hand reached my cheek. "There are many times when you go into your head, and I feel like one of those times you're not gonna return the same." I didn't know that my eyes watered at his words, but what I did know was that I was safe.

Ever since Jathos bought me he has done nothing to me; at least nothing that I didn't want. His hands didn't feel like theirs did. His were warm and soft, always bringing me pleasure. "Why would I leave the only person who's made me feel like I'm at home?"

I never thought I'd see Jathos cry, he always seemed like such a happy and strong person; yet here he is, crying for me. "Eísai to spíti mou Jathos. Aftó pou tha epanéltho pánta." (You're my home Jathos. The one I'll always come back to.)

Our foreheads were touching, our breath was shared, our emotions overflowing. There was nothing in this world that would make me leave this man. "Se agapó" (I love you)

Avery POV        August 20

It's been a while since I arrived here, but I don't mind it as I used to. The once dreadful days are now quite nice. I still 'work' as a maid, but instead of having a few things to do like before, all I have to do now is clean Jaylon's office.

Most of my time is passed with Jaylon, either training or talking. As you know, at first I hated training, but now since I've been doing it more frequently I don't hate it as much. I still hate it, but just a little less. But I guess it's tolerable, at least it helps me tone a bit of muscle, maybe one day I'll be able to beat Jaylon in a spar...it's so nice to dream.

Anyways, the lunch date I had with him was amazing, I was sorta expecting him to either take me to a fancy restaurant meant for the gods, or to just stay inside the property and dine somewhere secluded and romantic, but instead, he took me out to the town again. We ate these things called bougatsa and gyros which were sooooo good.

He also had us wearing our matching earrings, and we sure got a lot of people complimenting us on that. There was this one lady that congratulated us on our engagement and when I was about to tell her we weren't engaged Jaylon just thanked her and kept walking. When I asked him about it he told me it was just easier to do that than to explain to her.

But anyway, back to the present, right now I'm at the library again, just reading a few things, nothing in particular really. "Avery" I turned at the sound of my voice and found Ambrosia standing next to the table.

"Hey, where's Jathos? He's usually with you" I closed the book I had and looked behind him, at the door, but I found it closed.

"He's in a meeting with Apollo, Jaylon and a few others; but before I came here he told me we could go to the town and buy a few things for ourselves if we wanted." He was now showing me a big pouch with a lot of coins inside.

"Alright then, let's go" We left the temple and got to the town a few minutes later. We got to look at the scenery from the temple to the town and it truly was beautiful. Everything from the people to the nature in this city seemed to be perfection. Well...not every person. We were just walking, looking at clothes and objects when I felt my arm being grabbed.

"Ya don't smell from around here." I followed the tanned tattoed arm to a middle-aged angry looking face. "For a human, ya sure must have some balls to wander around, not scared of being kidnapped or killed." He had brought his face a bit closer to mine, sorta examining me. He had started to freak me out so I tried to get my arm out of his hold but he was strong. "Where do ya think ya going?" He tightened his hold on my arm and I cried out. He was starting to hurt me, but before I could do anything a shard of ice shot out and made a cut on his arm, making him release him. Ambrosia had grabbed the back of my shirt and pulled me next to him.

"Ya little bitch! Who do ya think ya are?!" He screamed at us, gaining the attention of the people around. "Ya two must be fucking escaped if ya act this way." He reached behind him with his good arm and brought out a whip. "I'm sure ya master will pay me good if I bring ya back to him." Ambrosia had flinched at the sight of the whip but he didn't back down, instead he breathed in and stayed calm, gathering water from a fountain near us.

"We're not escaped slaves, so plea-" Before Ambrosia could finish his sentence the crazy man had stricken his whip very close to us, missing us by a few feet and breaking a clay pot. The people around had now begun to shout and cause a riot. I don't know if they were shouting at him to stop what he was doing or if they were encouraging the fight, all I was focused on was the tail of his whip, moving like a snake through the air.

He flicked it yet again, but this time it was headed straight for us. Ambrosia quickly took a stream of water and froze it in front of us, taking the hit. I couldn't let Ambrosia do everything while I was protected, so I put all that training to use. "Ambrosia, I need mist, can you do that?" He nodded before waving his hands a bit, covering both the man and us in mist. I stepped away from Ambrosia and listened to the man's shouting.

"Come out ya little bitches! I'm taking ya back to ya masters whether ya like it or not." I quickly located him and snuck up behind him. I knew that I wasn't strong enough to beat him up, but I could at least try and take him out with a hit to the neck. It won't kill him, but it'll take him down. I raised my hand to hit him and struck down quickly, but before he hit the ground the mist had dissipated revealing guards were surrounding us. His body landed on the floor with a loud thud making the silence a bit more awkward.
