Chapter 30-Soulmate

Jaylon POV/ October 30 

I thought my detail-oriented Father would be unbearable this close to one of the weddings, but surprisingly, he has proven me wrong. After riding all four of our asses for the last two months, he has taken a break from being wedding-planner-zilla. Ever since 3 days ago he stopped running around with papers and assistants and instead has spoiled Jathos and Ambrosia as much as he can. They have been taken to about 4 different spas and given from 25 to 50 different treatments, and that was only the first two days. Yesterday, literally 2 days before the wedding, was when he first sat down with them to see how they were doing. Sure, he's the god of oracles and is one himself, but he's still first and foremost our Father, he wants to make sure all of us are fine. 

He asked if they were sure they wanted to marry so soon, and that his visions could've been 20 years into the future, or even 100. He also told them that just because they haven't had their moment doesn't mean they never will or that they shouldn't be together in the end.

I didn't notice that they hadn't had the moment up until I had eavesdropped on their conversation with Avery. I felt a bit guilty actually. I'm 100% sure they are perfect for each other and that they'll always love each other, but I bet one of them is holding something back.

Not like a secret or anything; maybe it's an insecurity they haven't talked through. My money's on Ambrosia. I know what has happened to him in the past and the conversations they've had cause Jathos tells me everything. I think he still worries that it's all a joke or that someday a slave hunter will attack him again, and be successful this time. When I told Avery my theory he disagreed with me, saying it was probably Jathos who was insecure.

"Agápi, you've met my brother, hell you know him since before I do; Jathos has no shame or insecurity."

"That's where you're wrong my love. He does have shame and insecurity. I don't know him enough to guess what they are, but I do know Ambrosia has gotten over his insecurities. Or at least worked through them enough for them to not be a problem. He knows Jathos loves him and would never leave him. Unfortunately, he doesn't express himself much, which could be the problem. What if instead of Ambrosia being scared Jathos will leave him, it's the other way around? What if Jathos was scared Ambrosia will leave him?"

Ambrosia POV / October 30

The wedding is tomorrow, and needless to say, I'm excited. However, and I don't want to sound like I'm doubting him, I feel like Jathos has had something circulating in his head for the last few days.

It started last week when the last touches were being made to the wedding plan. When the wedding planner sat down with us and told us the finalized versions of everything I could see that he was a bit apprehensive. It wasn't about anything in particular either. It wasn't that he didn't like the shade of purple that was chosen, or how the chairs were laid out. 

And it didn't get any better as the days went along, actually, I think it got worse after yesterday's talk with his dad. After that, his mood and worries were much more noticeable. I can't quite put my thumb on it, but I just hope that whatever it is, it doesn't affect him too much. I also hope that he knows I'm here in case he needs to talk to me. 

All of this worries me too,  not cause I think he's getting cold feet, but because I can see how he's struggling. I've thought about asking him about it but I don't want to make things worse in case he's not ready. 

Right now, I'm practicing my powers a bit. Making bigger things freeze, moving larger quantities of water, separating water, just a few things. My powers have progressed from when I started, back then I couldn't even move an ounce; now, I'm up to 15 gallons. My goal is to be able to protect myself and others in case something happens. I'm not trying to make the universe do something bad, I just want to own up to who I am to my best potential.
