Avery POV
I woke up surrounded by warmth and the smell of nasty sweat. Guess a few people didn't take a shower yesterday. However, I felt more at home there, laying next to Jaylon, covered in blankets and surrounded by the smell of sweat than I have ever felt anywhere else. It is never going to be my favorite memory, but it'll be a good memory nonetheless. I looked over to my right and saw the man that has invaded my mind ever since we first met. I saw him at his most vulnerable, sleeping peacefully. I carefully got out of his light embrace and did my daily routine of using the toilet, brushing my teeth, passing a hand through my hair and dressing in a loose long sleeved flower pattern top and some leggings. If you've never worn leggings, you should try them, they're the most comfortable things ever.
I escaped into the kitchen and started to make breakfast. I wanted exactly what Apollo had described yesterday, and so did Jaylon; and I'm going to do everything in my power, even if I don't have much, to make it work. So I have a plan to go on a series of dates, and in one of those dates, I'll ask him to marry me. And it all starts today with breakfast.
I had started to make the coffee the way I know Jaylon likes it, black, with some toast and butter, and I started to make the eggs which he liked..."Does he like scrambled eggs or fried?"
"Scrambled, he never liked the gooeyness of the yolk in a fried egg. Leto often tried to feed him fried eggs when he came over, but he always fed them to the apes" I turn around and found a man with a white toga around him. His blond unruly hair and striking blue eyes reminded me of a thunderstorm. He was smiling excitedly at me while holding his hands in front of him.
"But let's not talk about him. Let's talk about you. Jaylon told me you were such a cutie but I didn't think you'd be this cute; like damn. I sure taught the boy a thing or two when looking for brides. Gimme a little twirl." I had no choice as he took my hand and spun me around quite a few times. He let go of my hand and I almost fell if it wasn't for the seat of ice that appeared out of nowhere. We both looked over to the other entrance to the kitchen and saw a worried Ambrosia looking in.
"Ah! You must be the little water demon Jathos told me about. Such a cutie too." Unfortunately, it wasn't long till Ambrosia was in the same predicament I had been in, but at least my body caught his fall. "You two will make wonderful grandchildren-in-law!!!" What?
"Daddy!!!!" All we saw was a ray of ginger hair flying through the air before being caught in the arms of the blond man. "Daddy I missed you so much! Why haven't you visited? You promised you would be here for my birthday last year and you didn't even come!! All you sent was Artemis in your place and that wasn't even fun considering she took up half of everything! Wait till I tell Hera about this!" Wait- Daddy? If this man really is Apollo's dad, then...he's ZEUS!!! stared up at him with my mouth wide open and my eyes strictly trained on him as he ran around the kitchen trying to escape the flour Apollo was throwing at him.
"I'm sorry! I had important things to do, and didn't ha-"
"So you didn't have time for your son's birthday? Or you didn't care?!!!" It seemed I was the only one shocked by this behavior because Ambrosia was just staring at the bowl with the eggs.
"Avery I think there's a fly in the eggs." Ew!
"Ambrosia, is this normal?" I asked motioning to the now happy and peaceful Apollo talking with Zeus.
"Yeah. Even if I wasn't the most educated, everyone knows of Zeus' childish behavior with his family, I just didn't think Apollo would be the same."
I kept looking at the both of them. If you didn't know who they were you would think they were just two good-looking brothers casually meeting up.
"Anyway, I'm sorry I'm not here for you Apollo, but right now I'm more interested in these two young men. I've managed to ask the fates about you, and I know the both of you are destined for my grandchildren, so what better time than the present to get to know you?!" He came over to the kitchen and started making the scrambled eggs. "Sit down, I can make breakfast for the pains." Apollo had excused himself to go do some work so me and Ambrosia were alone with Zeus.
"So how did you guys meet my grandchildren?" He didn't specify who he was talking to so, both of us looked at each other before I decided that I would walk first, "I met Jathos when he came to one of Apollo's cruises where I worked. We got stuck on one of the bottom floors for a few weeks when Jaylon came to rescue him. I can't say it was love at first sight because it definitely wasn't but I can say that I gradually came to love him as much as I do now." Zeus hummed before looking at Ambrosia.
"Jathos saved me from becoming someone's slave."
Zeus couldn't contain the chuckle that came out before he said, "Always the heroes those two. Better than my relationships anyway." He served the fully prepared breakfast and looked at the both of us intently. "I know the both of you know that my grandkids aren't inexperienced when it comes to sex, I know you know that they've had partners before you, and I know that the both of you have thought about this some way or another. I just want to say, forget about it. Right now, you are the world to those boys. If someone else tried they wouldn't even have a chance in Tartarus. So please, keep that in mind." Surprisingly, he came over and gave us both a kiss on our heads before saying, "Sou díno tin evlogía mou sto gámo." Then he left. I didn't have the slightest clue as to what he said, but when I looked at Ambrosia he had tears in his eyes.
"He...he gave us his blessing to marry them."
