Avery POV                August 11

"I need you to take me to the best jeweler around." Damen stopped sharpening his sword at my words, I could see the cogs turning in his head, figuring out why I needed a jeweler. After he put the sword on the ground, he came near me and looked at me straight in the eye.

"I'll take you somewhere better, but only if you answer this question correctly. Why should I let you marry my Lord?" I knew this was a sort of test, but I was never great at answering questions about my strengths, I always said something very simple, but I had a feeling if I did that now, I would never get to marry Jaylon.

"To be completely honest with you...I don't know. I'm not powerful or strong like you guys, so I can't protect him. I'm not a woman so I can't give him children. I'm only an orphaned human who has nothing to his name, so I can't give him money or fame; not that he'd need it anyway. But I can give him my undying love and support. I can be the person he confides in 24/7, the person who listens to his troubles when everyone else is too busy with their own. I don't want to sound narcissistic, but I can make him happy. Or at least I'll try my damn best to." we didn't break eye contact, even though I wanted to, I knew that if I backed down now, it'd be the same as answering incorrectly.

"Aglaia"...huh? One second we were in the temple training grounds and the next we were in the middle of a throne room, one I was not familiar with; not that I'm familiar with many. He led me inside the temple, through many halls and archways, it seemed similar to Apollo's but it was smaller. We came upon a big door, which if it's anything like Apollo's temple, it lead to the throne room.

Sat on the throne was a beautiful woman, with wavy black hair and milk chocolate skin.  She had a necklace in her hand and was watching the gem that it held unto. She was smiling lightly at it like it had done something amazing and she was proud of it. I feel like that's the face I make to the cleaning tools after I clean Jaylon's office or something.

"Goddess Aglaia" Damen kneeled down with his fist on his heart. I was about to do the same but she spoke up before I could.

"Don't worry little one, I know what you come for, Zeus doesn't know how to control his excitement. He told me a human would come and ask me for a ring for his grandchild. So tell me, how would you like your rings?" I thought about it for a while, but nothing came to mind. I was never one to have many accessories, especially nothing like rings since I had no money. But I remember this one time I got off the cruise for my break and saw a jewelry store that seemed quite expensive; I knew I wouldn't be able to buy anything, but my eyes had strayed to a pair of rings that were gorgeous, they weren't simple, but they didn't scream luxurious.

I thought of how I would explain these to her, but the words just didn't seem right; until she came closer to me and lightly grabbed my face with both her hands. We both closed our eyes: I knew what she was doing, so I thought of the rings and saw; I tried to capture as much detail as I could so that they came out perfect.

"They're amazing" She took her hands away and brought them together as if cocooning something inside them. "I have enchanted them. They can't be taken off by force no matter what, so they won't be stolen. I wasn't the only one who did all of this, some of the other gods contributed with their own enchants. They will not break, even if you beat them with a hammer; but they will, however, crack and disintegrate if there is no love between the two people wearing them, courtesy of Aphrodite.  They have mild healing abilities, courtesy of Apollo. And if you guys are far away you can communicate through them, courtesy of Zeus." She opened her hands and showed me the exact same rings I had pictured in my head.

"They're perfect, thank you" Before I knew what I was doing, I was hugging a goddess

"They're perfect, thank you" Before I knew what I was doing, I was hugging a goddess. She returned the hug awkwardly, but in a nice way. I stepped back and smiled, and she gave me her dazzling smile back. Before we were on our way, Damen said goodbye too. She kindly smiled at us and waved as she saw us disappear into thin air and reappear in front of Apollo's temple.

"Thank you for taking me to Aglaia, I owe you one."

"You don't owe me nothing, just make sure Jaylon is happy." I hugged him too, excited that I was one step closer to spending my life with Jaylon.

"Avery!" We parted from the hug to see Jaylon coming down the temple steps towards us, his face set into a blank slate. "Thanks for the breakfast babe." Before I could even think of what to respond, he grabbed the back of my neck and basically devoured my mouth. Not that I minded, but it was a tiny bit embarrassing to be kissing this intensely in front of someone else. After we parted my brain was completely fogged, up until I felt Jaylon moving to hug me from behind, where he would definitely feel the rings in my pocket. I turned around and hugged him, making sure he stayed away from the rings. He looked confused at my actions, I couldn't have him suspicious, or else my surprise would be ruined.

"How about you thank me for breakfast by going on a date with me?" With the hug and Damen out of his mind, he bobbed his head rapidly. "Alright, let me change, wait for me in the kitchen." I pecked his lips quickly and ran up to our room, where I changed into a white shirt with a beige jacket on top and some black pants and shoes.

I put the rings in between the mattresses where I'm sure Jaylon won't ever look

I put the rings in between the mattresses where I'm sure Jaylon won't ever look. I was looking at myself in the mirror when I realized one thing; I had no clue where I was going to take Jaylon. The idea just came to me to distract him. Jesus Christ. I walked around the room for a few seconds before giving up. We'll just walk around and maybe I'll see something interesting. I really need to get out more and see what this place has to offer.

When I got to the entrance of the temple I saw Jaylon sitting down on the steps on his phone. He had changed his clothes. "I thought I told you to wait for me here" He looked back at me and smiled before standing up and letting me see his outfit. He was wearing a black shirt with black jeans, a white snapback, a gold necklace, some bracelets and a gold watch. Overall he looked amazing, and I'm guessing he knew what I thought of him going by the seductive smile he had.

"Should I change back to what I was wearing?" His arms were now opened as if to challenge me to say something, and of course, I didn't; my man looked so good

"I guess I'll let you off the hook this time" My hands grabbed his head and I brought him in for a sweet slow kiss, making sure he understood that I love him.

"Zeus almighty babe. How am I gonna last a whole night of you like this? You look so handsome, I'm gonna have to punch a few faces tonight" His lips met mine in a short peck.

"Don't worry love. My eyes only seek for you."
