Chapter 1

It was another crazy day at the office, my name is  Serena Reselle, I'm 22 years old, I am the proud owner of the second biggest publishing company in Florida. I know what you're thinking, how do I own a publishing company at such a young age, well I just graduated last year, and I had inherited some money from my grandfather, I decided to buy off a failing publishing company and I saved it, so here we are today.

I checked my watch and noticed it was already 17:30 , 'oh shoot, not again!!! ' I thought to myself, I was probably gonna be late for my dinner with my best friend, Annalise Swan, as most people know her as Anne, she was like my sister, God I loved her . I left the office, my car was waiting for me already . "Dave" I said, firmly nodding and smiling at him. Dave was my driver and bodyguard, I was well known , and number 24 on the highest paid female entrepreneurs on Forbes list. Therefore my safety was always a priority. I do have a lot of' famous ' connections in many industries.

I freshened up in the car on my way to the restaurant, I applied a fresh coat of eyeliner, mascara and lipstick, I untied my hair from the ponytail it was in and I ruffled it to give it an untidy, edgy look.
I walked into the restaurant, Annalise was already seated, waiting for me, she looked stunning, as always, she wore a nude dress with a plunging neckline, she paired it with black heels and her makeup was on point as always. She stood up greeting me kissing both my cheeks. " I'm so so sorry I'm late, I've had the most hectic day at the office, I need some wine" She laughed and said we can get that organised. The waiter took our orders we ordered salads for starters and a white Savignon blanc to go with it.
"So how's John? " I started, her face split into a wide grin at the mention of his name, I always admired them as a couple, and wished to find someone who loved me in that way, one day. "He's goooooood" she said. "What about you, still married to your work? " I laugh as she says this " Yip, still searching for my perfect match" I say sourly, while taking a sip of my wine. Just then our starters arrived, we continued our conversation. " Sooooo I wanted to ask you something" Annalise says. "I'm all ears", I responded . She wore the biggest smile on her face, causing me to smile in turn, "whaaat" I said nervously. "well John and I would like you to meet someone who we think would be perfect for you" " Oh gosh, you're setting me up " I said, cringing at the thought.
