Chapter 18

I woke up hearing  a noise from outside my door,  I was freaked out,  as I stood up to get out of my bed,  the door creaked open slowly,  and in front of me stood Gideon,  he looked breathtaking as always,  he wore washed  out jeans and a white T-shirt   and for some reason that turned me on.  I gasped out of surprise  and shock,  it was 01:00 am,  I hadn't been expecting him. He looked up at me and his jaw hung a little. I was in pajamas,  my favorite  ones.  He actually  has a picture of me in it on his phone.

I smiled at him.
"Gideon what are you doing here? At this time?"
"Serena, this distance,  is getting  too much for me.  I need you,  I needed to see you,  so here I am."

Hearing those words made me forget my frustration , just for that moment, I stepped aside and let him in. I realised we had a lot to talk about , I,  however,  was way too exhausted to deal with that , and decided to handle it in the morning . Tonight , I just wanted to fall asleep in my boyfriend's arms.

I woke at around 09h45, in Gideon's  arms, I felt so at ease, this felt so right ,it felt  peaceful , though I knew that was a temporary  feeling and sooner or later the chaos will take over . I had to leave soon to a photoshoot organized  by Christian's  parents , for the gala. I thought  about inviting Gideon along to the shoot, knowing full and well that Christian will be there, I wanted them to bond , I wanted Gideon  to understand  my friendship with Christian , and his family, so I did just that , I invited him  to come to the photoshoot.

It was 15:00 pm,  I just wanted to get back home to Gideon , he accompanied  me to the shoot but left as soon as it was over because of a work thing. So here I am,  stuck in a boardroom with snooty men that happen to be drooling over me,  it got tiring honestly. I was however grateful that Christian was seated beside  me as it was comforting to know he had my back. My phone buzzed and I noticed I had a text from an unknown number  , I brushed it off and silenced it. 
At last!  The most boring meeting in my career thus far  had finally come to an end. I walked out with the most enthusiasm I've shown all day,  and I felt  a hand gently grab my elbow,  I turned around to see Christian,  he smiled playfully at me.  That's the thing with Christian and I,  we were like siblings  . I returned his smile and I could see the amusement in his eyes.
"What  could the mighty Christian Grey want from me? " I said with a smile playing  on my lips. He faked a hurt expression and dramatically put his hand to his chest "Can't I just have an innocent conversation with you?",  I laughed  it off and asked him exactly what was up.  " Just  wondering why loverboy  kept texting you the  entire meeting long" I giggled at his referral to  Gideon.  " It wasn't  him,  actually  I should check who that was later,  anyway  he surprised me last night , that's how he ended up being at the shoot today". Christian looked thoughtful and then spoke " If you're up to it, both of you are invited to dinner tonight,  I hope you can make it." With that thought he kissed my cheek and bid me farewell,  all I wanted to do  was get out of here and go home,  thankfully the day was over.
