I watched as she practically tore the punching bag apart. Her hands were bleeding, and it seemed like Bree was never going to stop. I watched as she punched the bag a few more times, and then I stepped in grabbing her fist.

Bree stared at me with her blue eyes for a moment.

I stepped back, moving her away from the punching bag with me. "Listen to me. There was nothing you could do. There was nothing any of us could do."

Bree took a deep breath and stepped back, holding her hand. "Erica's death just reminded me... Any of us could die. And I want to be prepared for that."

I lowered my eyes. "Bree, we won't lose anyone anymore. Cora will be sent to where she wants to live. Peter, you, and I are the only ones that will live here."

Peter stepped in with his arms crossed. "Just don't be too loud when you're making out."

Bree let out a small laugh, but her face was still untamed. She took a deep breath. "There's still going to be something around the corner."

I gave a small nod. "And WE will be prepared for it. It's not just us, Bree." I placed my hand on hers. I smirked. "We are part of a pack that is bigger than we think. No matter what," I glanced from Peter to Bree, "we're not dying."

Bree paused and locked her gaze with mine. "I'll protect you."

I smiled. "And I'll protect you."

Peter rolled his eyes. "That's wonderful, but I need someone to guard my back. You two are sweet together and all, but I value my life too."

I laughed lightly and turned to Bree. "We'll make it. We're a family, and you mean more to me than anything."

Peter raised a brow. "Excuse me?"

"You heard me." I turned back to Bree. "We'll be fine." I rolled my eyes. "And so will you, Peter."

Bree laughed, and she looked at Peter. "You have our protection."

I smiled and kissed Bree's forehead.

Peter huffed and walked away. "Get a room!"

I smirked. "This is my place!"
