I was never really popular with girls. Regardless, I knew I was a ladies' man. I might be fidgety when I'm pulling the right moves, but I pull the right moves. Still, Scott believed I needed to meet someone, and he also believed this party would be perfect for me.
"Really? That's weird. Usually, it's the other way around."
Scott rolled his eyes. "Trust me on this, Stiles." He grinned. "This is gonna be great."
We enetered the party and a few moments later, I was bored of dancing by myself. So I decided to look around and see if anyone noticed me. My eyes shifted through different girls that were dancing. I took another sip of my punch as I walked a lap around the people that were dancing by the pool. I didn't look where I was going and bumped into a blond girl.
"Watch where--" Her blue eyes widened.
My eyes widened. "I am so sorry." I turned to her. "I was just..." Our eyes locked and I could hear my heart beat loudly, it was screaming, like when I first saw Lydia. "I don't even remember what I was going to say." My eyes begin to shift around the room, but kept coming back to this girl.
She raised a brow at me. "Aren't you Stiles?"
I nodded. "Yeah. Wh-what's your name? It must be something beautiful cause... you're beautiful." I smiled nervously.
She smiled. "My name's Bree."
"Oh." I felt a less nervous. "That is a pretty name. I'm Stiles."
She laughed. "I got that."
"Oh." I looked at the floor, laughing. "That's right. You already knew that." I looked back up at her. "Um... So, we're at a party." I licked my lips. "Would you... would you maybe wanna dance?"
She grinned as if to herself. "I don't really dance. Not to these songs anyway."
"Do you dance to bagpipes or somthing?" We lightly laughed and she shook her head. I took a step toward her. "What? Come on, a pretty girl like you should know how to dance."
"I do. I just--"
I held one of her hands. "Listen. Would you at least dance with me?" I locked gazes with her.
She smiled. "Yeah."
I smiled with widened eyes. "Alright." As I led her into the crowd, I mentally gave myself a high-five for getting over my shyness. We faced each other and began dancing. What I found different, but pretty awesome, was that she was actually dancing with me, like actually dancing with me. She wasn't just moving to the base line, she was dancing with me, Stiles of all people. I fist-pumped in all directions as I danced with Bree. I felt us getting closer with every song, with every beat. It all felt like a party should be. My little mistake was getting to close and comfortable by kissing her neck as we danced.
She froze, stepping back.
I shuddered. My eyes were really wide. "Oh, god! I am so sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I don't even know why I did that!"
Bree smiled and kissed my cheek. "I didn't think you liked me that much."
I smiled, feeling myself blush. "Well, I didn't think you'd actually dance with me." As we continued to dance, I wanted to know more about her. I wanted to know her like I knew Lydia. "Hey."
"Hey." She lightly laughed, making me laugh.
"You wanna go somewhere we can talk?"
"Like, without yelling?" Bree grinned.
I nodded. "Yeah." I held her hand. "Come on." I led her to a room upstairs closing the door. She looked at me with a raised brow. I froze. "Right. I'm sorry. I'll just leave that open."
