I blinked, raising a brow. "A red hood? Like, Little Red Riding Hood?"

Derek nodded. "Except, she's a hunter instead of a little girl that visits her grandmother."

I grinned. "I'll take it that we won't trick her as easily either."

Derek glared at me.

I stepped back lowering my head. "Sorry. So is she tracking us down? Does she know who we are?"

Derek shook his head, standing over the desk near the window. "From what I've seen, she's only paralyzed Betas." He looked at Cora then me. "I'm not sure if she knows about you guys or any other betas in the area. And I'm not sure what she does with the Betas or if she'll kill you."

Peter stepped forward, crossing his arms. "But we're not taking any chances." He looked at every one of us. "As you all have seen and proved, this pack is stronger with numbers."

I looked down and nodded. I thought about how far we've gotten. I thought of Erica and Boyd. I looked at Derek. "So if we find her, we kill her?"

Derek nodded. "That's the plan, Isaac."

I licked my lips, looking down at the floor. "Why not just capture her? She's just a hunter right? We could find out her true objective that way. No one really knows what she does with them anyway."

Peter shook his head. "I highly doubt she's one to talk. Especially, considering the fact that she paralyzes Betas and runs away or rapidly takes them with her."

Derek glared at me. "If you can capture her, do it. But so far most of the betas she was after were taken and few weren't. So if you think she'll spare you be my guest. She'll be on the move tonight because it's a full moon."

My brows furrowed. "How do you know that?"

Derek's silent glare grew intense.

I sighed. "Right."

"It's the only time she has appeared." He looked out the window as a cloud moved out of the moon's way. "Let's go. Time to find Red."

I strolled down the street, trying not to make it obvious that I was looking around for Red Hood. I had a feeling we should've stayed together as a group rather than split apart, but Derek said this would be better. I sensed it actually meant that he was taking care of something else.

Regardless, I continued to walk around, keeping my eyes open for a red hood. I walked into the woods after I walked around many neighborhoods. The sound of crunching leaves under my feet relaxed me, but then I realized that I probably shouldn't make noise as I walked around. As I looked up at the moon, I heard a faint howl.

"Don't move." A whisper came from far behind me. "He's very close to you."

I realized that there was a low growl coming from up ahead. The beta took a silent step forward, ready to pounce.

I smiled. I was ready to defeat it. I took a deep breath, but the rabid wolf came at me faster than I expected. My back hit the floor and it howled in my face.

"Ugh." An arrow pierced into the wolf's shoulder and he fell over, slightly twitching.

I stood up and looked at the girl that shot him. Her red hood fell back a bit, revealing her beautiful blond bangs and bright blue eyes.

She glanced at the paralyzed wolf and me. "Are you okay?"

I tore my eyes away from hers. "Yeah. I could've handled it though."

She moved my face towards hers. "Why are you out here alone?"

My heart slowed as her eyes seemed to pierce into mine. I grinned. "Why are you out here alone?" I looked at her cross bow. "With a weapon? Were you planning something like this?"

She smiled, looking down at the Beta. "I guess you can say I plan it." She squatted down to the Beta. "Less people tend to be killed by uncontrollable Betas this way."

My brows raised. "That's why you paralyze them, to keep people safe."

She nodded, standing up. "I figure that if their Alpha can't stop them maybe I should help. And sometimes I take them back to my place until the morning, so they can explain to their Alpha what happened. This way," she shrugged, "no one will get the wrong idea."

I paused. I considered what she just told me and how much she just told me. "Why are you telling me all this?"

She looked at me and smiled. "I trust you, I guess. After all, if I told you that maybe you could tell your Alpha."

My eyes widened as I blinked. "How did you--"

She placed a hand on my face. "You never answered why you were out here alone."

I grinned and scratched my nose. "I doubt that was the only way you knew."

She smiled and then frowned. She became silent and looked around.

"What is it?"  I looked around.

She froze and her eyes narrowed in that direction. "I thought I heard something." She looked down at the Beta. "I guess he's not safe out here."

I picked up the paralyzed wolf. "Let me help you carry him."

She let out a small laugh and began walking. "Thanks."

I smiled, following her. "It's the least I can do for a cute girl like you, you know," I placed the wolf in the back of her car, "before I never see you again." I locked eyes with her.

Her eyes shifted between the floor and my eyes. "Well..."

I took a step forward, closing the the car. "What's your real name?"

She leaned back on her car. "Bree. Yours?"

I grinned. "Isaac." I leaned back on her car. There was silence between us as I tried to look through tree branches to see the moon. There was no way to see it, so I looked back at her, not too awkwardly. "Is this really it?"

Bree looked at me. "Wh-what?"

I looked at her through my eye lashes. "Once you leave here, I'll never see you again."

She paused. "I guess so."

I stepped in front of her, holding both of her hands. "Can we change that?" I softly kissed her lips.

Bree smiled, looking down.

I wrapped my arms around her and kissed her again. She wrapped her arms around my neck as we continued to kiss. I slid her red hood off as I cupped her head, pulling her body closer to mine. I kissed her for as long as I could before kissing her again. After a while, our kisses slowed. I kissed her on the cheek before locking gazes with her.

"What is it?"

Bree stared at me for a moment. "I don't want this to be the last time I see you."

I grinned. "Do you have a piece of paper and a pen?"

"I think so." She walked to the front of her car and opened the door, immediately looking through the glove compartment. "I have a napkin and a pen."

Taking the items, I kissed her forehead. "It'll do." I wrote down Scott Mccall's house phone number. "Just ask for me when you call." I grinned. "Call me tomorrow?"

She grinned. "Of course."
