Alexander
I woke up and stretched, feeling papers slide off my upper body. I picked the papers up to see they were the Debate and Public Speaking syllabuses which I put in my binder before grabbing my phone to text Nate.
StillWriting: Thanks for the syllabus man
DudeWithTheGlass: No problem
I got up and out of the bed, I felt less tired now that I had slept. I walked out into the living room to see John sat around the couches, love seats, and armchairs with the Schuyler sister, Maria with her baby, and James Reynolds next to her, Laf sat on Herc's lap in an armchair. John looked over at me and smiled, "Why hello there Sleeping Beauty."
I yawned for my response and sat next to John, putting my legs over his lap and cuddling into him as John held him. I saw James lean over and whisper to Maria who mumbled something back, bouncing Susan who Herc was making funny faces at which made her grin with her mouth hanging open.
"So Alexander," Laf said and I looked at him, "Our wedding will be within the next month." I grinned, "The 21st, mon amour?" He asked Hercules who nodded excitedly, "Sixteen days. Father 'as gotten our venue already. You should 'elp me find a suit and John is 'elping 'ercules. We were planning the wedding with everybody here. Peggy and Maria will be my bridesmaids and James will be with Maria because he wants to be and Angelica and Tori will be with 'erc. I want...Thomas and James to be with us. 'e is one of my friends and the first person to talk to me when I moved 'ere." He smiled sympathetically at Peggy.
Peggy shook her head, "It's your wedding. If you want your friends there then go ahead and do it. I'm sure Thomas has the common sense not to be argumentative and rude during your special day and if he is we'll just ignore him. It's your day, Laf, you get to have fun." She smiled and Laf smiled at her.
I noticed Maria and James whispering to each other more and more but I ignored them, maybe it was about Susan? New parents can be paranoid. "Can I hold Susan?" Hercules asked, still pulling faces at Susan.
Maria looked at James who shrugged and she smiled at Hercules, "Sure. She can hold her head now but not perfectly so be a little careful." She said and handed the small child over, watching Hercules wearily until she was sure he was holding her correctly.
"I love kids," Hercules said and bounced Susan, sticking his tongue out at her but he regretted it once Susan grabbed his tongue which made him grunt.
"She grabs things," Maria warned though the warning was a bit late and she was hiding her laughter. Susan squealed and smacked Herc's chest and we laughed at them.
Herc looked at Laf, "We should totally adopt kids." He said and I looked at John a bit shocked that they were thinking of children already.
"Maybe...one?" Laf said quietly, "We should focus on our college and school for now. I'm sure it is 'ard to take care of Susan and attend school, right?" He asked as he looked Maria who shook her head.
"It's hard," She admitted and looked at Susan, "Because I have to take her to class so I don't think I could do it if I had two and they don't let children in the dorms so Angelica and I have to keep her secret." She said.
Hercules nodded slowly, "Makes sense. Maybe just one then and I mean we should enjoy being married after the wedding before we think about children." He said and bounced Susan who began to babble.
Laf nodded, "Definitely." He looked down at Susan, "And we can always 'ang out with Susan, no?" He glanced at Maria who nodded, "See!"
Hercules nodded and kissed the top of Susan's head, her hair was a bit crazy brown with curls though it was short as she was still so young. I looked around and furrowed my eyebrows, "Wait where are the twins? Tori and Nate? And Theo?" I asked, finally piping up into the conversation.
Eliza shrugged, "Tori and Theo had to go check in at the school they're doing their student-teacher work at and Nate drove them." She said, leaning against Angelica as she blinked tiredly.
"Hey it's about time for dinner," John noted as he looked at his phone to see the time, "Okay so...we could order pizza?" Everybody loved the idea instantly and he grinned.
Maria's phone went off then and she looked at it, "Oh it's time for Susan to eat." She reached over and Hercules handed the girl back, "Thanks." She said and picked a backpack up that was rested by her feet where she pulled out some stuff to make a bottle.
John patted my legs so I moved them and he got up, "Cheese all around?" He asked and everybody nodded, "Be right back." He said and left the room with his phone, ordering the pizza.
I sighed and stretched again, "God I don't know why I'm so tired. I'm already not ready for the rest of college." I mumbled and ignored their laughter. I could tell James kept glancing angrily at me and I knew it was stemming from our encounter earlier. How did he wind up with somebody as nice as Maria? I hope their child takes after Maria but seeing as Maria was the only one I've ever seen handling Susan I guess she will take after Maria.
John came back, "Pizza is ordered." He said and sat back down, putting an arm around me. I nodded and closed my eyes, "Don't fall asleep you have to eat." He said and shook his arm and I groaned.
Soon enough the door rang and John popped up, getting the pizza and paying for it. He came back and set the boxes on the coffee table and we all dug in. The rest of the evening was spent eating pizza and discussing wedding plans and before I knew it John and I were cuddling in bed again.
"I like falling asleep with you..." John whispered before his eyes closed and he fell asleep. I giggled and nodded, kissing his temple as I fell asleep for the second time today. Holding John made me more comfortable and much more relaxed so falling asleep with him in my arms was perfect. I still can't believe we're living together and get to fall asleep together and wake up together, it's honestly a dream come true.
