John
Finally, the end of the week. Even though it was just the first week of college I was beyond exhausted and so was Alex. I put enough food and water in Rebel's containment for the two days we would be gone as we joined Laf and the twins and went home for the weekend. Herc was with us because he didn't want to be bored and his parents were at work. We'd made an agreement with Washington to visit for holidays, breaks, and weekends unless we were swamped with work and he made us promise to stay during important tests, but that's where we were headed.
On the ride there Laf kept going on about his wedding, "Honey." Hercules spoke up about halfway through the ride. Laf looked at him to show he was listening, "Our wedding day isn't till November." Their wedding day kept changing, originally it was their anniversary, then it was Halloween, but now it's going to be November 18th because that's the day Laf came to the USA. That's the day they're staying with though and Laf responded by licking Herc's cheek to make Herc whine, "That's gross!"
I laughed and put my head on Alex's shoulder, "You guys are weird." I said and they threw assorted things at me so I laughed and threw them back with Alex helping as we fought in the back of the car.
When it pulled up we fell out with the plastic cups we were throwing falling out as he fell onto the grass and burst into laughter. Tori crawled out of the car, "You guys are wild as Hell." She said before dropping a cup on Alex's head.
Alex looked up at her and grabbed her waist and threw her down onto the back of Laf as she squeaked and Laf laughed. Herc sat up and tickled her sides and she screamed with laughter as she smacked his hands. Nate then dived from the car and tackled Herc as Tori crawled away, "Ha! Twin power!" They high fived and then ran inside.
"We're so childish," I mumbled but Alex just hit me with a plastic cup and I rolled my eyes before we finally got up and went inside. I marched in and ran to find him, Washington, and when I did I launched onto his back, "Sup?!"
He stumbled and took a moment to recognize me before laughing, "Hey there Johnny." He said and I patted his head, "What're you doing?" He asked.
"Well...I wanted to pat the head," I said and got down, "Now distract Alex while I go through his things." I told him and ran up to his room with the trust that Washington would keep Alex busy.
I don't know why but I really wanted to go through Alex's shit, I was curious! I mean maybe I should ask him first but his desk was right there so oh well. I opened the drawers and looked through them until I spotted something rather familiar. I picked it up, I haven't seen this for almost eight or nine months.
I flipped it open, "In the Heights." I read off of the paper, it was all typed out so it wasn't Alex's almost illegible writing. I smiled, "Usnavi, Vanessa, ah I remember these characters." I giggled, "Nina." I flipped to my favorite song, Alex would sing them as he wrote them so I fell in love with them. I nodded as I read it, "I can't find Usnavi!"
"Whoa no!" I turned around and saw Alex looking at the rather large script in my hands and I raised an eyebrow and turned back to Blackout.
"I still like this," I told him, "Nina's my favorite. You should get this like turned into a real thing, I love it, please." I looked at him and stuck my bottom lip out because if I begged hard enough I knew he'd do it, "You worked so hard and it's going to waste and there's no reason not to." I told him.
Alex sighed and walked over, picking the script up and flipping to the start, "Abuela Claudia needs her story told anyway." He mumbled and I wrapped my arms around him with a nod, "Fine...we can talk to father about it tomorrow but for tonight we should just focus on relaxing because being away for so long did stress us."
I nodded again, "I know...you just spent forever on it and I really liked it and then it never got adapted into a musical. I wanna see it! In the Heights except it's not a one-man musical that I only got to see my boyfriend sing."
Alex laughed and nodded, "Would it conflict with my school schedule? I'm afraid it might. I want to have direct involvement in all of it so I'll have to be there. It's gonna be really stressful and I dropped out of the last thing I was going to be in to write the damn thing."
"Hey," I poked his cheek, "Acting, singing, and all that is way different from writing and making sure your creation is presented accurately." I told him and kissed his cheek, "You can do your schoolwork while they do rehearsals and I'll be with you to remind you that it isn't impossible. Plus Herc can do the costumes! He'll be so happy! He could even do the costumes in the dorms so you could be there the entire time and have direct involvement. Plus he could put it on his resume and add it to his shop's website." The more I thought about it the more things I realized he could do.
Alex nodded, "You're so smart, John." I smiled and he put a hand on the side of my face, instantly I kissed him gently as his arms found their way around my waist, "We're adults now." Alex said quietly and I hummed to let him know he was right because...yeah duh we're adults now, "That's so crazy."
"You know," I began, "When I first saw you I literally told myself to stop being gay because I knew I'd gain feelings for you and..well, I did." I smiled and he nodded, "I can't believe I didn't just...love you on the spot."
Alex shrugged, "You were scared because of your father and all that." He put the script down on his desk and took my hand, trying to walk out but we ended up falling into the bed together as his ankle twisted around his other.
I stared at him and then we just began kissing. I don't know what went through my head or how we ended up like this really but I took my shirt off as I sat up against him. I'd never done this before but...I was ready. I was ready to lose my V card so I gave Alex consent and we...just went from there.
