Maria
"This isn't a house," I decided as the taxi pulled up to what looked like an actual castle, "Is Mr Washington really serious about just giving this to us? It's too fantastic to just get for free!" Seriously, it was bigger than the entire college!
Peggy shrugged as if this was normal, "It looks a little like my family's summer home. Plus look over there at that log house mansion thing that Alex and John are looking into, they're obviously the norm around here."
"Oh my God I really don't deserve all of this," I looked just as the car stopped and we got out. Peggy picked Susan up who instantly cuddled into her to try and keep warm, I also pulled my coat tighter, it was so cold the pool in front of this place was frozen!
I got the keys and hurriedly opened the front door, walking in with Peggy and Susan who was already beginning to develop a red frostbitten nose. We got inside and I closed the door as Susan began to whine about the cold.
"Whoa look at the couches!" I hadn't seen a couch that big before and hurried over, "They're so awesome!" I looked at Peggy and she smiled, "You're awfully quiet." I mumbled, watching her sit down and rid Susan of her jacket.
"Well..." She glances up before pulling Susan's hat off, freeing her curls, "I keep thinking about living with you. You want to live with me, right? Me and Susan? Then we could wake up next to each other and Susan would grow up here and I could teach you both how to swim." One of the things I had revealed to her was the fact that I couldn't swim. I have never been to a swimming pool or the beach so I just never learned.
I nodded instantly, "Of course." I moved over and sat next to her, I would have taken her hands but she was still holding Susan as she was still cold and cuddly. I decided to hug her instead, "Imagine living here, three years later with Susan's little bare feet patting against the floor and us cooking in the kitchen." Although I made it up on the spot I couldn't help but want it no matter what.
Peggy smiled and looked down at Susan before she sighed and looked back up, "Are you sure? I mean I-I'm still just sixteen and I don't know if you'd want to be with me in the end since it's just...everything's scary." I tilted my head to show I didn't understand, "Because everything's unsure. I'm sixteen and you're nineteen so everyday people at school tell me it won't last and I really want it to and you have a daughter and go to college and we're like the opposite..."
I looked down for a second, she was right but at the time she was wrong, so wrong, "I'm hella sure." I kissed her cheek to try and help, "I know there's this sort of age gap but that's why I've tried to take this slow. I know it's hard to do that since there's a child already but when James kidnapped me, you and Susan kept me going. He tried to use you to make me submit actually but I wouldn't let him because I love you, Margarita Schuyler, and I will always love you."
Peggy leaned forward and I knew what she wanted immediately, I pulled her closer gently and kissed her. Peggy tilted her head and I put my hand on the side of her face, loving every second of her against me. Peggy slowly pulled away with a soft smile, "I love you too, Maria Lewis." She whispered.
I put my forehead against hers and she laughed softly, I wanted to play with her hair but I didn't want to mess up her messy bun. We stayed like that until Susan reached up and smacked Peggy's chin, "Mah!" She shouted.
We both started laughing and I took Susan, bring her up to my face and kissing her nose, "I love you too, Miss Susan Lewis." She squealed and we laughed again as I turned to Peggy, "So when we get married I want your last name so in the future, she'll be Susan Schuyler, won't she?"
Peggy's face reddened before she nodded, "O-Okay." I laughed and soon pulled her in again for a soft kiss, setting Susan in between us as she began to bounce. Peggy pulled away first and said a quiet, "We should be looking at the house y'know.."
"Well, yeah," I kissed Susan's forehead making her squeal again, "Okay, okay, Miss Loud Mouth." I looked back at Peggy to see her grinning, "Of course. Do we get to have the furniture here or do we need to get our own? I don't think I can get enough furniture to fill even half of this place." I don't think I even have enough money to fill half of this house with furniture either though I'm sure Peggy and her family do.
Peggy nodded, "Of course. We get to have everything in this house if we want to, that's how the deal is. Plus Washington-George. I get to call him George since he's dating my sister," She giggled for a moment and I rolled my eyes, it was something she loved to gossip about, "Anyway George and my dad said they would help with repairs that could happen over the years but I think we could handle calling a plumber."
"Right, of course, anyway I want to find a room for Susan and then the master's bedroom and a room we can use as a playroom." I got up and picked Susan up, bouncing her as she held my shirt, "Because I had a room full of toys when I grew up and I want that for Susan so her toys aren't all over the house or her room which could be a tripping hazard but they get messy fast so we'd have to keep it clean."
Peggy nodded and jumped up, "Alrighty then, let's go!" She grabbed my hand and we ran around the house laughing while Susan screamed at us.
