"Got everything?" John asked as I flopped onto my suitcase and bounced on it to try and close it. I looked at him with narrowed eyes and he laughed, "Guess not."

"I just have too much shit!" Him laughing at me was not helping the fact that I was aggressively trying to close the suitcase by hopping on it like a rabbit, "Did you get Rebel situated in the car?" I asked and John nodded, "Good." I heard a click and I stared wide-mouthed at the suitcase and then to John, "I did it!"

"Wow good job," John replied semi-sarcastically, "Now we just need to close the other four." He looked at the others.

"Ugh!" I sat up and jumped on the other ones, slamming them closed and bouncing until they all clicked, "I did them! I mean, locked them!" I said proudly and got up off of the suitcases which were full of my books, clothes, and other items.

"Good job, babe," John said and grabbed two of them as I grabbed three, I followed him out to the car and we loaded my suitcases into the trunk. I checked the time on my phone and nodded happily as I confirmed we were on schedule.

I looked at John and sighed, "I wish Aaron..." I trailed off and we both sighed knowing it was useless to cry about it now. Aaron left our friend group over the summer after finding out Peggy was still friends with Theodosia and he told her to stop talking to her and so Peggy, of course, told him no with her sisters backing her up and soon it had turned into a huge argument. Aaron then mentioned something about Thomas Jefferson and James Madison being better friends anyway and we haven't talked since except in shady comments on social media.

I shook my head to clear it and climbed into the backseat beside John, I was glad dad's car had more room than most vans so John and I could sit right behind the driver's seat and passenger seat with the twins and Herc in the back, Laf sat up front with dad driving of course. I furrowed my eyebrows as I looked around, "Where's Rebel?" I asked John.

John giggled which almost drove me crazy as he's adorable as fuck. He reached his hand into his pocket before taking a small green creature out, "He's right here, silly." He said and kissed the top of Rebel's head, "The Schuyler sisters took his aquarium to the dorms already for me so I just have to bring him." He told him.

"They also took Sanders," Laf said from up front, "We 'ad to sneak 'im in though because the building only allowed small animals and certain big dogs. I do not think an alligator falls into any of those categories."

We laughed at him and his stupid but awesome alligator. Sanders had grown a lot in the past few months and he was about as long as a coffee table now, he was a fabulous creature in all. I slipped my hand into John's and smiled at him as father drove us to King's College, the college we had all dreamed of attending. I was glad we had all been accepted and they even let us pick who we preferred as roommates which means I'm basically just moving in with John and we're both getting degrees to live our dream.

Laf waved his hand between the driver's seat and his own to get out attention, "Mi amour and I 'ave decided the location of our wedding." He said with his usual vivacious smile, "We want to be married at the beach!" He yelled and hooted with laughter, "It will be perfect! And Alex, you are still open to being my best man and John you as 'erc's?"

"Dude," I said as John shouted something about always being ready for them to get married, "If I couldn't make it to our wedding I'd find a way anyway. There's no way I'm backing out now." I told him honestly.

"Then this is perfect!" Laf declared happily, looking at Herc who gave him two thumbs up. Laf blew Herc a kiss and he pretended to grab it and put it to his heart as John made gagging noises which prompted Herc to playfully slap him upside the head lightly.

The car ride slipped into a lull until; "And his name was JOHN CENA!!" Exploded into our ears as I heard the sound of Victoria laughing at us cringing from the sudden violent volume. I looked back and went to say something to her but Nathan's actual pained face made me just laugh for an ungodly amount of time.

We pulled up to the dorms and all of us scrambled out, grabbing our bags and running to our respective dorms. I threw my bags down once inside John and my's dorm, I looked around and found the beds were in the same room but on separate sides of the room so I pulled them with all of the strength I could until they were against each other and the size of a queen size bed with the headboards against the wall in the middle of it.

"Perfect," I looked back at John who placed Rebel inside his glass container, "I can't wait to live with you and to wake up to you overworking yourself and crying and I get to comfort you and remind you how much you are loved and don't need to stress." He said and I laughed nervously as I knew staying awake to work was behavior I would definitely do.

There was a knock on the door followed by Peggy's voice, "Hey do either of you know how to handle babies?" She asked and I glanced at John before we got up to investigate what she meant.

"What do you mean?" John asked when we got to our door, Peggy standing there in a sundress. Peggy was a senior now actually but she was still in high school, she just agreed to help us move in because she's so nice.

"Um...come with me," She said and we followed her to another dorm that she entered, instantly the sound of a baby wailing entered my ears. Peggy hurried over to a girl I managed to identify as Maria Lewis though I didn't really know her, she was trying to shush the crying infant.

Maria looked up and looked at Peggy for an explanation which Peggy quickly told her about how she got help. Maria looked at them us, nervously, "I uh-my daughter she won't stop crying and I don't know why." She told us.

"Let me see her," I said and held my arms out, holding the small girl gently when she was handed to me. I bounced the small child and rocked her before realizing she was grinding her gums together. I put a finger in her mouth and felt her gums, "She's teething." I said and looked at Maria, "How old is she?" I had no idea this woman had a child but I did know she was single so that must suck.

"Four months," Maria said, standing up to take the child back, "Shhh Susan mommy knows what's wrong now I'll make it all better." She said, kissing the baby apparently named Susan's forehead, "Thank you." She said.

"No problem," I said with a grin, "You know how to make her gums feel better, right? You always have scotch if all else fails." Scotch would numb gums and it wasn't harmful as long as it's just enough to numb the gums and not like in a bottle.

Maria nods, "Really, thank you. I've never really cared for a baby before." She said and I nodded understandingly, "Are you moving in too?" She asked, getting up and finding a teething ring which she put in Susan's mouth, smiling at her as she gummed it happily.

John nodded, "We are." He said and then got up on his tiptoes to ask, "Why are you so good with kids? I've never seen you and children in the same room before. It makes no sense."

"Because," I whispered back, "I babysat on Nevis to try and make money because as we all know my dad is a deadbeat." John nodded and I turned to Maria, "If you have any more problems just come find me. John and I are in Dorm 314, just down the hall." I scribbled my phone number down on a piece of paper and handed it to her, "Here. Just give me a call."

Maria nodded again, "Thank you so much...Alex?" She looked at Peggy who nodded and she turned back to me, "Thank you very much, Alex."

I nodded and took John's hand, "We have to go unpack still." I said it to him but it was also so the girls understood why we were leaving.

We said goodbye to Maria and Peggy, leaving to go back to our dorm and unpack, making idle conversation. It was a rather daunting evening because while unpacking doesn't take much skill...you really had to have work ethic and determination to do it and I'd much rather sleep, to be honest. But, we did it. I got into our bed, yes, our bed, John and I have a bed, together, that's so perfect sounding. We got into bed and cuddled as we ended the first night of living together, I'm sure John was just as nervous as I was about starting classes at this prestigious place of learning but I was ready.
