She woke up on the top bunk bed of her bed in the barracks. On the bottom lay her partner, nicknamed Sera, and she woke up as well. There was an alarm going off. They got out of bed, and quickly got their uniforms on. This wasn't a drill. The kind of alarm that was going off signaled and attack from the Black Fist. The girl grabbed her trademark dual desert eagles. She also grabbed a shotgun just for good measure. Her partner grabbed a sniper rifle and a small makarov pistol. Sera went over to the girl.
"You think this is a drill, K?" She asked.
"Not a chance." She replied, "we just had one yesterday."
"We need to get to our positions."
They ran out of their barracks and into the main hub. The girl went behind a wall and took her pump shotgun off of her back. She waited.
Then, suddenly, there was a loud boom coming from the entrance. There were guns going off everywhere. It seemed to just be a normal gunfight. Maybe this was just a drill. Just as she thought this, a lightning bolt zipped past where she was hiding and hit the wall behind her. Nope, definitely not a drill.
She came out of her hiding spot and started to shoot people down. Every single shot that she took, a bullet landed in someone's head. Bodies dropped like flies. More and more people in black robes began to show up, overwhelming the Resistance forces. She decided that she had no choice. If there was this many Black Fist soldiers, she needed to use it now. She took out a small grenade from her bullet pouch. She pressed some buttons on it and it started to glow red. She threw it into the crowd of Black Fist soldiers.
She pressed her earpiece.
"EVERYONE GET OUT OF THE ROOM NOW!!!" She yelled into the microphone.
Everyone started to retreat.
The Black Fist has thought they won, but then one of them noticed the small grenade. It clicked. Suddenly a humongous explosion filled the room, blowing out the entrance wall and taking out 80% of the enemy units. The Black Fist started to retreat.
Everyone cheered and started patting the girl on the back. The celebration was cut short by a piercing voice at the top of the grand staircase.
"MISS CARTER!" The voice was directed at the girl. "Please see me in the general's office." The voice was General Odin's. He was a big bulky man with long black hair. He always wore army slacks and high boots, which made him look even scarier.
He opened the door and let her inside.
"Do you know," he started, "how many lives you just risked? You could've killed the entire Resistance if you hadn't given out a warning!"
"But I did, didn't I?" She snapped back.
"Not to mention that you just blew up the entire front entrance! Now we have to rebuild the entrance while also waiting for another attack! If they attacked once, they will do it again in time!"
Then someone else walked into the room. It was Finn, the creator of the Resistance.
"Calm down, general." He said.
"But sir-"
"No buts."
"Yes, sir..."
He stepped away from the girl.
"Now, Miss Carter," Finn started, "how old are you?"
"I'm fifteen, sir."
"I see," he said, "and where did you get your hands on an explosive as deadly as the one you used?"
"I made it myself, sir."
"At your age?"
"Yes, sir."
He looked her up and down.
"I think you'll do."
"Excuse me, sir?"
He stepped back and put his hand out for her to shake it. The girl was very confused.
"Congratulations, Miss Carter." He said, "I'm giving you the opportunity to become my right hand."
General Odin was furious.
"Sir!" He interrupted, "Surely you aren't just handing the position of right hand man to this," he paused "girl!"
"General," Finn said, "You aren't in position to influence my way do thinking on this matter. This girl clearly has a lot of skill in making split second decisions, not to mention her impeccable aim and leadership abilities. She is more than qualified to be my right hand."
He looked at the girl.
"Now," he said, "do you accept my offer?"
"Of course!" She said, flustered, "I'll definitely accept, sir!"
"Good. Now I just need to you to sign some things and we'll be set."
General Odin growled at the girl, and she stuck her tongue out at him.
Finn took out a piece of paper. It had all of the requirements and tasks for the right hand. She read it over and finally signed her name.
Keri Carter.
