Abusive relationships are not a joke, neither are they as simple as you think they are. For those of you calling Nyla 'stupid' or if you think it's so easy for someone to leave a situation like hers, if you have never experienced something like this, you will never fully understand.
I've witnessed first hand how people are in abusive relationships and it's not all black and white.
The abuse that Nyla has undergone doesn't only come from Shae and I've given several hints of what's to come in this book.
I ride HARD for my characters, especially Nyla, because there's always more to someone's story than what they show you. Even Nyla's own brother, Tyson, has no clue of what she's enduring.
If you had a family member, your sister, your Mum, and they were dealing with the same things, know that being emotionally manipulated and destroyed isn't a simple thing.
I began writing this book when I was only 15 (now I'm 22) and I've used my first hand experiences and used them as inspiration for my writing. Does that make me stupid? Am I weak? I want to show you the development of characters and make this book as realistic as possible. This isn't Disney or a movie. This is based on real life situations.
Nyla is strong and she has a good head on her shoulders and hopefully you will understand me fully when the next few chapters come out.
If you can't handle reading something that happens in reality everyday then you've been blessed with a good life and you are lucky. PLEASE understand where I'm coming from.
I do appreciate all of the comments, follows and votes. I just want you guys to understand I'm not trying to create an unrealistic story because they're too simple for me and I hate clichés.
