"Tyson! What did you do?" I held on to Jada's arm trying to stop her from collapsing as her blood made a pool around her feet. She was screaming out in pain with Tyson just standing frozen with blood shot eyes.

"My baby!" She cradled my stomach the best that she could as she sunk to the floor causing me to drop down with her.

"I didn't touch her. Alright? I didn't fucking touch her!" He started pacing the living room, silently having a debate with the numerous voices in his head. He always did this. When I first started noticing his erratic behaviour I was only 11 years old and it developed for the worse year after year.

"This is your fault, you're fucking useless." Jada screamed through her pain. I have no idea where she was getting all this strength from as she was losing a lot of blood.

"Jada, you need to calm down and breathe."

"It hurts so bad!"

"I know just breathe." I ran over to the landline and proceeded to call an ambulance. My heart was beating a million miles a second and I was praying that my niece was going to be okay.

"Why are you helping her, Nyla?" Tyson questioned after I hung up the phone. I looked over at his calm seated position on the opposite sofa.

"Are you insane, Tyson?" I countered. "What happened Tyson? Don't try and lie."

At first I thought that Tyson had flipped out due to his bipolar and assaulted her. I soon came to my senses and knew that my brother never put his hands on anyone no matter the circumstances.

"That's not my baby." He pointed in Jada's direction. "The bitch puts her hands on me and then has the nerve to fuck someone else."

"Put her hand on you? What do you mean?"

"Remember this?" Tyson pulled his sleeve up to reveal a huge burn mark on his arm. "She did it. Also, remember the bruises on my back and face? That was no fight with randoms. It's all been her."

"You knew all the shit that Tyson has been through and you still-."

"I'm sorry." Jada struggled to breathe out.

"Now she's sorry?" Tyson said to himself as he smiled up at the ceiling. "She wants forgiveness? Should I give it to her?"

I watched as my older brother had a full blown conversation with himself. What unnerved me the most was that he was completely still and he had yet to even blink.

"Just leave her, Nyla. She's getting her karma. Finally." Tyson still sat there unfazed as I was getting angry for him.

I sat down fully on the floor next to Jada as she breathed forcefully through her pain. The tears streamed down her face , her makeup running in the process. If I was heartless, I would have just upped and left with Tyson and let her deal with everything by herself. She was lucky, touched by an angel, that I was a nice enough person to never do that. I wouldn't wish a child loss to anyone.

I really believed that Jada was my brother's soulmate. I guess that I'm not right about everything.

When Jada's family finally arrived at the hospital, I made sure to make it clear everything that I had been told. There was no way that I would allow her to flip the script and tarnish Tyson's name. I was surprised when she immediately confirmed my words. Disappointment and shock bled into the room. Although Jada was only 6 months pregnant, the baby survived and as far as I knew, she had a healthy daughter.
