...just 20 minutes later.
Now, here I was sitting on my boyfriend's sofa trying to discontinue the sexual urge that had started only a few hours ago. I wasn't fully satisfied due to my liquored up brother stumbling into my room with a groupie hanging from his neck. I had to scram to find a t-shirt since my bra had disappeared during our inappropriately cozy exchange.
From the corner of my eye, I saw Shae step out of the bathroom with steam clouding around him making him look like a Greek God. My eyes travelled down his body, only a towel covering his jewels; unfortunately not precious to me. The water was still dripping from his body as his eyes focused on me with the rest of his face showing a bored expression.
For a moment, just for a moment, my heart rate doubled but it soon reduced because deep down I knew that my body was sexually aroused by my best friend and not this man in front of me. It also didn't help that when I first arrived, he had ignored me and only now, one hour later, he was giving me any sort of attention.
"Why weren't you here when I told you?"
I was sucking on your number one fan's face.
Before I could even conjure up an answer, his phone started ringing and his attention fixated on that.
There was a time when Shae would borderline stalk me and be all over me. Bare in mind, it wasn't to the point where it was annoying or creepy. He always gave me my space if I needed it and that was what I loved about him. We could be on the opposite sides of the room with our only form of communication being glances at one another. Just our eyes interlocking would make me sink deeper in love with him. Those light orbs would penetrate me with so much comfort and reassurance of his feelings towards me.
"Answer me." I snapped out of my daydream.
"You were on the phone." I responded with a slight frown.
"Well, now I'm not." It was amazing how a grown man could be so childish. I took a deep breath to calm myself. I had to remind myself that he wasn't anything like Ace or Tyson. My sarcasm or sharp remarks would only affect this interaction negatively. I had to learn that fact the hard way.
"I was drunk, Shae. I had to wait a while."
"Was it my fault that you wanted to act a fool and drink so much?" I looked away from him whilst fiddling with my fingers. I didn't want to look weak to him so I kept my eyes down willing my tears to evaporate. This is another reason why I didn't like to go out, I couldn't even have fun without being judged.
"Were you with your little friend?" From the corner of my eye, I saw him throw me a lazy expression seemingly not even interested in the answer that I would give.
He already knows the answer.
"Listen," I stood up and walked over to him, "remember when we used to buy a whole bunch of snacks and takeaway and we just stayed in bed watching movies?" Much to my surprise the captivating smile that I fell in love with appeared on his face. I discreetly had to pinch my arm to make sure that I wasn't dreaming. I had always had dreams where Shae had never stopped being the almost perfect guy. I remember feeling so lucky to have him and so blessed that he chose me.
It was my friend, Camille's, 20th birthday and since she loved being the centre of attention, she obviously needed to throw an overcrowded party at her home. I had arrived alone since my brother wanted to get pre-drinks with his friends which meant that he was forcing me to be the designated driver.
Since it was a winter night, I kept my outfit simple with a light v-neck jumper and a pair of mesh cut out leggings. My black Timbaland boots crunched against the pebbles as I made my way to the front door.
