chapter 4

after lunch i went to my locker to get whatever class i had next. as i closed my locker i saw harry on the other side. he grinned.

"guess what"

"what?"

i looked at him and gave him a confused look, he couldnt keep his laughter in.

"spit it out harry!"

i laughed with him

"nevermind ill tell you later, come on lets go to class"

he grabbed my hand and dragged me to what looked like social studies. the teacher directed me to the seat in front of harry's. throughout the class he poked and played with my hair and kicked my seat. finally the class ended and i got out of my seat and left not waiting for harry. i looked and saw i had art next. where the heck is art? i looked for harry but he was stuck talking to a teacher. i walked over

"um excuse me? well harrys helping me figure out where my classes are and i dont wanna be late on my first day of school so can we please go?"

she nodded her head and harry sighed.

"thanks you saved my butt from mrs talgata, she HATES me"

we went to art and soon enough the day was over.

"want me to walk you home?"

harry helped me get my bag and go back to homeroom.

"um sure i actually dont know how im supposed to get home"

i looked at my phone and i saw a text from my mom.

"just walk home with a friend please, i forgot to hand you your bus slip, you know the address"

i sat at a desk by myself again because harry was my only friend, and i want him to hang out with his friends not me. in the corner of my eye i saw a girl staring at me. she looked familiar. then i realized it was emily from my science class. i looked at her and i looked back down. i guess she walked over and sat next to me.

"why are you sitting alone? dont you wanna be with harry?"

"no he's with his friends its fine"

"oh okay, well ill go back to my friends."

she went back over to hannah and dylan. i could hear them talking about me.

"why did you go over there?"

"shes not that bad guys"

"no shes new and new girls are stupid"

"i think she's nice"

"emily, its obvious that harry likes her. and she probably likes him too. i mean who wouldnt. look at him!"

i could hear hannah saying, she was trying to whisper but she sucked at it. i texted harry

'jeez girls here suck at whispering'

he got the text and smirked at me, and snickered.

"you like him dont you?"

i snapped my head up and saw a girl i didnt know standing in front of me, staring.

"um who are you?"

"oh my names melissa but you like him dont you?"

"who, harry?"

"well duh"

"no why?"

"i dont know its obvious to me"

finally it was time to leave and me and harry walked to my house.

"you live here?"

"uh yeah two houses down"

"wow, these places are huge"

"yeah i know, wheres your place?"

"actually right down the road"

we talked for awhile and i was finally home, we hugged goodbye. i feel like he wanted more but im not ready for that. i just left brandon. i walked in and plopped my bag on the ground and walked to the kitchen. no one was home. i know my siblings are still in school but wheres my mom? getting my brother probably. i grabbed a box of cookies and went to my room. i was scrolling through my instagram and i saw brandon posted something. i looked closer and saw a picture of him and a girl. at first i thought it was me but it wasnt. the caption was

'happy one year baby! i love you so much'

and tagged chloe. my heart dropped and i started bawling. i guess i was loud because my brother came in my room. i quickly wiped my tears but he noticed. he was only 6 he's not gonna understand anything.

"sissy?"

"alex? i thought mummy was getting you from school"

"mommys in the basement, why are you crying?"

"brandon was cheating on me with chloe for a whole year without me even knowing!"

i cried harder and he came and hugged me.

"well one time i thought my batman was so cool but then he broke, so sometimes everythings not cool"

i laughed, even though he doesnt understand love its still nice he tried to help. we talked for awhile longer and then it was dinner time. after dinner i watched tv then got ready for bed. i hadn't looked at my phone sense after school and i dont intend on looking on it until i have to.
