CHAPTER 7
The bell rang and it indicated that it's 11:00 in the morning and that my first class has ended.
Tumayo na kami ni Avy. Thankfully hindi siya lumingon sa likuran dahil busy siya sa pagtetext sa phone niya habang nangingiti.
May textmate na ata to ah..
"uhhm, lex I have to go do this uhmm thing for my paper. I need to go." nagmadali siyang umalis without even looking me in the eye.
"U—uy!" Shit! Iniwan niya akong mag isa. Tengene na dis!
"at last at nagkita na rin tayo." I pursed my lips before turning to him.
"hi! T'was nice seeing you too." sabi ko at tumalikod at lumabas na.
"ooops! Not so fast Alexa Renee." that made me stop on my tracks and I heard his footsteps coming closer until he was right in front of me.
"may klase ka pa?"
"wala. Maglalunch ako. Kaya pwede ba? Wag mo akong bwesitin." I moved to the side so I could pass by him but he just mimicked my move.
"tara kain tayo! Libre ko." hinila niya ako palabas ng school papunta sa sasakyan niya.
"get in!" ako naman si tanga pumasok sa front seat.
It's like my two own feet is betraying me!
"seat belts please." and he revved the engine.
He took me to a restaurant kung saan ang raming mga hugot na nakasulat sa pader. Each table may nakalagay na isang bowl na naka lable ng "hugot of the day."
Eh curious ako so kumuha ako ng isa at binuksan.
"wag magalala dadating din siya. Oh hindi naman kaya nasa harapan mo na SIYA." I read out loud unconsciously and I didn't realize I made a very big mistake.
"haha! Does that mean na tinadhana ako sayo?" I rolled my eyes at him.
"bakit mo ako dinala dito?" Trying to change the topic.
"sabi mo gusto mong kumain ng lunch kaya eto tayo. Kakain ng lunch." He said casually while looking at the menu as if there's nothing wrong about it!
"isang order ng meal 3. At dalawang halo-halo. Siya na lang oorder para sa kanya." the waitress looked to me with her pen and paper waiting for my order.
I looked at the menu absentmindedly "Isang uhmm, meal 2." inulit niya ang order namin bago umalis.
"well it would've been nice to ask me if I wanted to go with you in the first place." I sighed and continued, "Or tell me where we're going."
"now where's the fun in that? And gusto lang naman kitang itreat." Nagkibit balikat siya
"close ba tayo?" hindi ko na mapigilan ang sarili ko. Kasi na aawkward ako eh. Ang awkward naming dalawa o ako lang talaga ang na- aw-awkward.
"bakit? Magkakilala naman tayo ah. And I missed you." I would believe it if he's not Grey but knowing him? He's full of schemes and himself.
"nice try. Not gonna fall for that." I said and flipped my hair.
"I see nagustuhan mo ang regalo ko saiyo."
I can sense amusement in his eyes. And his eyes were looking at my bracelet. The bracelet that he gave.
"Not because of the reason that you are thinking of! I liked the bracelet, yes.
That's why I am using it. Not because of the fact that it was given by you."
"wala naman akong sinasabi ah! Ang defensive mong masyado. If you say so haha!"
Inihatid niya ako sa school bago mag 1:30 kasi may minor class pa ako.
May klase rin daw kasi siya.
He walked me off to class.
"anyway, thank you for the treat Grey. It was great." sabi ko habang kinakamot ang batok ko.
"that's nothing. So what time does your class end?"
"uhmm 3:00." I sounded unsure. Its because I was. I was unsure of all this. And ayoko sa nararamdaman ko. It's scary.
"perfect! Have fun Renee!" sabi niya bago umalis papunta sa klase niya.
Pag pasok ko ng klase all eyes were on me. It's as if I did something wrong.
Hindi ko nalang pinansin ang mga tingin nila.
3'O clock came and all I can think of is to go home early and binge watch from dusk till dawn.
Paglabas ko ng classroom agad kong nakita si Greyson na nakaupo lang sa ledge ng railings.
"hi!" he beamed upon seeing me.
"uhh hi?" not sure why he's outside my room.
"Anong ginagawa mo dito?" I asked again.
"Siguro hinihintay ka? Duh?" Sarkastikong sagot niya.
"shall we go now?" I just rolled my eyes at him.
"go where?" I asked confusingly.
"may lakad ka pa ba? Hindi ka pa ba uuwi? Ayon sa schedule mo last class mo na ito." I was shocked na alam niya ang schedule ko.
"why do you know my schedule?"
"well hindi na yan importante. So tinatanong kita kung may lakad ka pa ba."
"wala na. Uuwi na ako." nagsimmula na akong maglakad palabas ng campus.
"tara hatid kita."
"woah there. Pwede ba tigil muna tayo?" I raised my hand in mid-air signaling him to stop even though he's in front of me.
"oh okay." and he stopped walking and faced me.
"what is all this?!" there. I can't. I'm confused of all this.
"what? I just want to drive you home safely. Is that bad?"
"bakit? For what possible reason?"
"nothing!" He chuckled.
He chuckled! What the?
"well hindi ka lang pwedeng sumulpot ng bigla-bigla sa buhay ko at gagawa ka ng mga ganitong bagay na pwedeng iba ang iisipin ng mga tao sa ating paligid. Unless may kailangan ka kaya ka ganito." His left eye twitched and I was sure there's something he wants.
"what do you want?"
"wala nga. Why are you forcing the thought that I might have something up my sleeve?"
I decided to ignore him. Not worth my time at all.
"anyway, I can go home on my own. Thanks." sabi ko bago siya iniwan at lumabas na ng tuluyan sa university.
Tumunog ang cellphone ko at tinignan kung sino ang tumatawag.
Agad naman akong napangiti.
"Hi kuya! Nasa labas na po ako."
