Goodbyes

I tried so hard not to break anything as I quickly crammed that last remaining items from the living room into the last packing box.

The apartment looked so empty, the walls touched up with white paint and the carpet? freshly vaccuumed.

I'm not gonna lie, I admit I was a bit nervous to return to Cali, especially considering I hadn't really called my mom, who was yet to be informed about my move.

I guess I was nervous to see her reaction.

I played about a million scenes in my head, depicting different ways she could react and about two-thirds of them were negative.

I knew she didn't want me moving to Florida all alone with Amanda, because i'm young and Amanda's young and two young people with no guided direction tend to make stupid unchangable mistakes, but we were perfectly fine on our own. I made sure to call to check in as often as I could, but as time went on the calls slowly started to fade and she started to spend more time with her boyfriend. It didn't feel good to be replaced, but I was used to it and it brought me to learn how to deal with those situations as an adult.

Speaking of Amanda, I hadn't talked with her for more than 10 minutes, my anger toward her was still strong, but it was overpowered by my thankful feeling toward her.

Without her I wouldn't be in the place that I am, which could be both bad or good, but I wouldn't have met Shawn or Jack, or Cam... Or Nash, Carter, Matt, Aaron, J.Johnson, or anyone else that was amazing along the way.

We had to stop to pick up Cam, Amanda, and all the boys before we headed to the airport.

It was scary to know that this was the end of a chapter, but exciting to know that I was now open to a new beginning.

"You two ready to go?" Jack called to Shawn and I.

I was observing the apartment as a whole one last time before the move. I know I hadn't been here for long, but it felt like home. I had mixed feeelings looking into rooming with two boys, the Jacks were super sweet though, so I didn't see much of a problem.

Shawn, Jack, and I each grabbed a moving box to load and headed out to the van that was sent for us.

Shawn and I grabbed the big couch like seat in the back of the van and Jack grabbed one of the single seats.

"Are you excited?" Shawn asked me as he slid his arm behind me.

"A little more nervous." I kept it short and intook air through my nose, I tried to close my eyes, but my stomach was so uneasy that I was barely able to even sit still.

We arrived at the hotel and the parking lot was packed with girls, I guess all their fans knew it was their last day and they didn't wanna take any chances of missing them.

It took 15 minutes to even be able to pull into the hotel. When we finally got in we had to rush theough the emergency stairs before anyone spotted us.

We rushed to their room and banged on the door for them to let us in.

"Is everyone ready?" Cam said as he grabbed his suitcase, "Glad you'll be joining us in Cali, Kay."

"Thanks Cam, i'm excited, a little nautious.. but excited." I smiled small and quickly looked away. I couldn't discuss it anymore, my head was already growing pains and my stomach was already uneasy, I was ready to leave so that I didn't change my mind.

After we all left the room, we went down with Chad to make sure they were all checked out and to return their room keys.

I noticed a familiar face and made my way toward it, hoping that it would get my mind off of the moving topic.

"Boo!" I jokingly said as I went it for a hug.

"Hey you!" Spencer turned around and laughed, "What have you been up to?"

"Lots of drama, i'm actually leaving for Cali in about... well what should be 15 minutes, but knowing the boys, it'll be a while longer." I laughed.

"Cali, no way! That's awesome, my parents actually own a hotel brance up in LA! What's up there that you're going for?" he said smiling.

"Well, of course it's where my family lives, but i'm actually going because my friend is moving up with Cam and she was the owner of our Florida apartment, so i'm basically being nicely evicted." we simultaneously laughed.

"Oh man, that's really cool that you'll be up in Cali, but i'm sorry you got "evicted". He added the finger gestures around evicted and I chuckled. "I'll definitely miss seeing ya, but i'm glad we got to meet! You have my number, so don't be a stranger!" he came in for a hug.

"I definitely won't! Like you said, there's always a LA hotel branch if you wanna come visit me!!" I laughed and also went in for a hug.

I joined Shawn and the boys at the back exit before basically running to the vans. The bodyguards were barely holding back the teenage girls, but we had made it just in time.

On our way to the airport all I could think about was everything I was losing, but I had never though about all the amazing things I was gaining.

About 30 minutes later we arrived at the airport. We only had a couple suitcases, because their manager rented a U-Haul and had the boxes from our apartment driven up to Jack's.

Going through the security was always my least favorite part, even though I knew that I had nothing bad on me, I was always terrified that something would happen.

We had been waiting for about 45 minutes in our terminal waiting area before the finally called for our flight.

"now boarding plane 203- orlando to los angelos"

I felt my heart drop, but I was ready to go.
