⬆️ Btw, the title means English class in Spanish.
BOOM! DROP THAT KNOWLEDGE!
Anyway, my English class was lit today.
We finished reading Romeo and Juliet yesterday. I don't want to spoil it or anything in case anyone wants to read it, but it's so sad...
Anywho, today we were preparing for our test on it which is on Monday (y'all pray for me! Ima fail it haha).
We were reading quotes and trying to identify who said what.
I did horrible on it, btw.
The only quotes I got right off the bat were Paris's. That was only because I played Paris for the majority of the play (he's my boiiiiiii😂).
But, yeah.
Anyway, Mrs. Yaffe has this other worksheet for us to do for fun. I didn't do it, but it was basically comparing quotes from the play to lines from a Taylor Swift song called Love Story. The song is all about Romeo and Juliet.
It's a great song. Go listen to it if you wanna...
So Michael and I walked back into the classroom after lunch and Emily was playing that song through her phone. Michael, me, and almost everyone else started belting out the lyrics. Although I sang quietly because I'm a horrible singer. 😂😂😂
There's this guy named Owen (he's a huge football player guy, but he's super nice) and even he started singing it because he "loves Taylor Swift". 😂😂😂
And then Charlie and Emily went in front of the class and started acting out the lyrics in the song. They got to the part where Romeo proposes and Charlie (Romeo) got down on one knee and pretended to propose to Emily (Juliet). It was great. 😂😂😂
And then we started watching scenes from the modern Romeo and Juliet movie with Leonardo da Caprio. It was SO CRINGY guys...
We watched the battle scene, the scene where Romeo and Juliet meet, and the final scene where Romeo and Juliet kill themselves.
We also watched this other scene, but it was soooo cringy that I don't even want to talk about it...
(If you want details on the scene mentioned above, it was basically just a big fight scene between the Capulets and Montagues at a gas station. Yes, a gas station. Idek...)
But literally everyone was on the edge of their seats during the suicide scene at the end. Even I was, man.
And Mrs. Yaffe even told us that Romeo was high on LSD in the scene where he first met Juliet. 😂😂😂 Way to go, Romeo.
So yeah. That was my English class.
