Y/N's mother welcomed her with open arms. It have been almost 2 years since they really had a conversation face to face even with the children popping over the last few years, the mother and daughter duo only talked on FaceTime. Now, y/n had more to talk about rather than what kind of formula is right for the babies. So far they've been there for two days and the kids were enjoying Winter Break with their Nana. The kids were outside playing with Makayla and Kennedy and Kendrick were upstairs looking at their mother's old room and the triplets were sleeping while
y/n filled her mother in on what was happening.

"I know he wants what's best for us but he's handling it all wrong." Y/n's mother listened to her daughter rant as she quietly sat back and dranked her sweet tea, but y/n didn't mind knowing her mother comes up with wise words when she's observing and listening. Y/n told her mother everything, aside from the shooting of Kendrick which she already knew about. "...Then I just took my kids and left." Y/N tugged at the sleeves of her vanilla cardigan while watching her mother sit up and shake her head and wrap the blanket tighter around her. It wasn't cold at all-- it's California for Christ sake-- but the A.C. gave it a chilly Christmassy feeling. "The way I see it, Noonie-" y/n smiled at the nickname she received growing up, knowing her mother will choose her side. "-You had every right to leave." Y/n smirked until her mother hit her with-

"But..."

"It's not just Keith's fault. You slept with that man- lord rest his soul- knowing the problems they had with each other and not only that, but you also knew the outcome of it. Yes, I agree Keith should let the police deal with it but don't take your husband's kids away from him because you can't forgive yourself for getting that man murdered." Y/n eyes widened, "Mother!" "It's true, y/n and you know it. You're letting your kids hate Keith for his past while you get to walk around stress free. You were also the cause of Kendrick getting shot."

Y/n eyes watered knowing her mother was right. She still have the scene playing of Keith telling his friends to kill Terrance and all she did was sit there and fear for her life. Selfish was something she grew to be while being with Keith in her younger years. However, her kids life and safety are on the line and the first thing that came to her mind was blaming him for that.

"You're suppose to be on my side." Y/N chuckled and her mother shook her head and got up, "I'm not here to tell you what you want to hear. This is on the both of you and now Keith and my other grandbaby is risking their lives for you." Nana got up and left y/n to think about the situation like a little kid. She got up and peeped out the window to see Taylor playing ball in the back yard with KJ while Makayla sat down on a blanket with Kyrie and Timothy playing blocks. She smiled seeing that they were happy and worry-free unlike at home. Y/N smiled faded when there was a knock on the door. Her mother rarely get any visitors and if she does then they call before they arrive. Y/N found Nana in the kitchen with Kennedy making dinner, "Mother you have company?" "Oh I don't know baby can you answer? Also Kennedy, go get that little white girl so I can show her how to really make my grandchild happy. A way to a man's heart is through his stomach!" Kennedy shared a look with her y/n and tried to hide a smile.

Y/n passed the Christmas tree that held the kids presents Nana and she had gotten that morning when everyone was sleeping. Y/n peeped through the peephole and seen Keith and Tyrell standing patiently. Y/n quickly opened the door and raised an eyebrow. "Your little mission over with?" Keith picked her up and squeezed her, "I missed you." Y/n weakly hugged him back low-key happy to see him but she still was upset that he went back to his old ways. He sat her back down and she hugged Tyrell, "We didn't do it, ma." Y/N pulled back with a confused look "What?" "We didn't go along with it. Being close to losing our families were too much for us." Nana came out and hugged them. "You made it!"  Y/N looked at her mom with a frown "You knew about this?"

Keith wrapped his arm around Nana "She the one who called me. Well we were already on the way but when she called saying you were moping around-" "I was not!" "I also talked some sense into her, not everything is your fault Keith." Keith nodded while looking at Y/n roll her eyes, "Yeah, go see the rest of your kids." Keith grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the house. "I actually want to talk to you about something."

"I thought about what you said, with putting my family in danger and everything. I also know that you miss being around here." Y/N motioned for him to continue on, "And?...." Keith licked his lips and chuckled then looked away. "I want to-- I want us to move." Y/n heart jumped loving the fact that Keith finally made a good decision in a long time. "When?" "Now I know that you don't want to-- wait what?" Y/n laughed "I said when are we moving?" Keith eyes lit up and he did a little dance.

"Let's say a month or two? For now let's stay here and out of trouble."

"Move the couch to the left." Keith ordered to Tyrell and Kevin who was helping them move. "How about you help?" Y/N smushed his head while holding Kamori and trying to get KJ out of the way. "Go in the back yard and give them some space." She ordered as Tyrell almost dropped the couch on his toe because of KJ running around with his football. They finally sat the couch down against the back wall and the men sighed and flopped down. "No sir, not on my brand new couch!" They groaned and dragged themselves outside on the porch chairs. Y/N followed and stood out, admiring the bigger and better house that the Powers Family would be calling home.

Tyrell grabbed Makayla's hand and dragged her to the backyard away from everyone. "What do you want?" Makayla was still not over Tyrell plan for revenge but she was absolutely happy that he didn't go along with it. "I want to say that I love you. Thank you for being with me every step of the way and dealing with my huge and also annoying family. Thank you for having my beautiful daughter and even learning to cook for me." Makayla couldn't help but get warm at his speech but still chose to hold a grudge. "Where are you going with this?"

"OH MY GOD!" Makayla screamed causing everyone to run in the back. "What's wrong?!" Keith panicked until Makayla turned to them and raised her hand.

"We're getting married!"
