Chapter 19
Jace
I awoke to the sound of someone giggling and another sound constantly saying "aww". That and the light from the room made the back of my eyelids turn into a red color. It was rather an annoying to wake to the two sounds, especially after crashing so late the other night.
The events of the night before flooded through my mind and I became aware of the warmth that was underneath my arm. I felt Elise move slightly under my hold but then she was still again. It felt so natural to have her in my arms when sleeping, like it was something that my body was so accustomed to when I never slept with her by my side before. I couldn't remember the last time that I slept so soundly.
"The fans are going to freak out when they see the photo," I heard someone, who sounded very much like Dani, snicker.
"I'm freaking out," I heard someone else, who sounded just like my mother, squeal, "They are just so cute,"
I cracked open one of my eyes to only have it assaulted by the blinding light that came through the window.
"Oh! Jace you're awake!" I heard my mother cry out with what sounded like way too much happiness.
I groaned and buried my head into the crook of Elise's shoulder in the hopes of having them go away and the sun stop being so damn bright. But with that action I heard my mother squeal again, which made me groan again. I just wanted to sleep.
"Could you please be quite," I snapped at her groggily, not moving from my position which made my voice more muffled.
The only reply that I got was the sound of Dani chuckling, which made me open my eyes and peep my head out of the crook of Elise's shoulder to glare at the two women that were occupying my room.
"Leave," I demanded, but the two of them just grinned at me.
I noticed that the two of them were holding camera's in their hands as well as their phones, which could only mean one thing. They were documenting this moment. Which never meant something good. Nope, not when it involved either Dani or my Mom.
Finally, my Mom sighed, "Okay we'll leave, but you two should get up, it's already noon,"
Contrary to her words, she stood at the foot of my bed and stared at where Elise and I were sleeping. She put her hand on her chest and mumbled something about it being too cute.
It was Dani who finally dragged her out of the room, but not before giving me a wink as she closed the door, "Good luck, don't do anything I wouldn't,"
"That leaves all the doors open," I retorted, sinking back into the comforters to get more sleep.
"Exactly!" I heard Dani call out as I began to drift back to sleep, my hold just as tight around Elise's waist as it was the night before. My heart began to beat at the same rhythm as Elise's after a while, both of our chest falling and rising at the same time, making a warm sensation fill my chest.
I was turning into a sap for this girl and I wasn't even going to fight it.
The second time that I awoke, it was to much better circumstances. This time there weren't any annoying women who were all too fascinated and entertained by Elise and I sleeping. Instead my eyes cracked open when there was a movement by my side.
I looked up to see Elise sitting up on the bed with her light brown hair tangled and mussed on the top of her head, her eyes were still filled with sleep and they drooped down the tiniest amount. The sunlight that filled the room casted a warm glow on her face, lighting her face up, and making the moment all that more perfect.
