Chapter Five

Harry POV

“Deep breath Harry and focus,” Niall coached me as we stood in the middle of the forest, away from human life.

“I can’t fucking do it Niall! It’s not going to happen,” I say out of frustration, not even being able to create a flower out of my mind when last week I was able to create a car but I can’t even make a fucking flower.

“Why do you even have me doing this dumb shit anyways? You know I can make better!”

“Yes I know that, but you have to learn to even make the simplest of things. And right now you’re struggling,” he says, his voice calm.

“Yeah because this is stupid!”

“Just focus, Harry. It’s not as hard as you think. Don’t you want to bring flowers to Andy?”

Of course he would bring her into the conversation, knowing that I would do anything for her, even this stupid lesson right now. I rolled my eyes but focused anyways. Girls like flowers, and Andy was trying to be as normal as possible. Giving your girlfriend flowers is a normal gesture so I guess that should be able to count. I sighed in frustration, knowing that it’s not working.

“Niall, it’s not-“

I was caught off guard as I opened my eyes, looking around me at my feet. Around me were more than a dozen roses; red ones, yellow ones, orange ones, every color I can even think of. But one of them stood out in all of those. There was a single black rose in the middle of the reds and blues. I couldn’t explain the single black rose but I knew that it symbolizes something, something I couldn’t put my finger on. Maybe is symbolizes me, in the middle of everyone who’s the same around me. I was the outcast that didn’t belong in a world full of perfect imperfect people.

“It’s not what?”

I could practically hear the smirk in his response.

“Niall do you see that,” I ask him, brushing off his smart remark and pointing to the black rose.

“See what Harry?”

His eyes followed my finger but I knew he couldn’t see what I was seeing. That made it all the more worse.

“Harry, tell me what you are seeing.”

His voice was stern as he saw the look on my face. I was at a loss for words.

“Haz, you have to tell me or I can’t help you. I can’t give you an answer if you don’t tell me.”

“I saw… I saw a black rose… right over there in the middle of everything.”

He turned to look back to the place I was pointing at, his brows furrowed as he tried to think of what that sign could’ve meant, if it meant anything at all.

“Is this the first time you’ve seen black,” he asked, turning back to face me.

I shook my head.

“Do you know what it means,” I question, my voice coming out hoarse because I feared the answer.

“I can’t be completely sure. But I know who to ask. Don’t worry about it for now. Let’s continue with the lesson.”

I sighed, wanting to be done with this for the day and to just go home and cuddle Andy.

Home.

My heart skipped as I thought about getting to go home and be with Andy. But then I remembered that she had her first day of college classes today and I would have to pick her up from there soon. Just thinking about her actually doing what she wants, learning what she wants puts a smile on my face. I wanted to hear everything; from what classes she’s in to who her teachers are and who some of the people in her classes are. Something in me just wants to know every single part of her day and I wouldn’t stop till I find out everything.
