Chapter Eight

Harry POV

There she stood in the doorway, her colorful hair resting straight down her shoulders. Her arms were held right in front of her, her face showing some type of innocence. Something was off about her, especially since the last time I saw her when she basically killed herself and nearly killed Andy. Lilly was standing there, right there in that fucking doorway. And the worst part of it was that Niall saw her too.

“What the fuck are you doing here,” his voice came out not like his own. It was low, creepy even as the words left his lips.

I sent shivers down my spine seeing Niall act this way. Usually, he was the happy carefree lad of the group. And I knew that he still loved this girl still, even though he had Hanna now who was made especially for him. The way he was with Lilly before she became into a total bitch was my favorite Niall. He had been much happier with her and the love he had for her showed right in his bright blue eyes. Now those eyes were dark, full of fear and hurt but at the same time anger.

“I know you’re probably pissed at me,” she said as she began to walk into the house.

“No, fuck no,” I said as I began to back up which surprised me. Usually, I would be walking towards her trying to fight her or something. Now, I was showing fear and defeat because I didn’t know what to do. She was Andy’s mum and I couldn’t kill her, no matter how much I fucking wanted to.

“Don’t come any closer,” Niall threatened, his eyes never leaving hers. I could feel what he was feeling, the anger was rolling off of him and onto me. It fed me the adrenaline that I needed, that I craved to have and I loved it. I was no longer afraid of Lilly anymore. The only thing I wanted to do was protect Niall and protect this house. More importantly, I wanted to protect Andy and Anne.

“Niall, I swear I’m not the same person I was when you saw me,” she basically pleaded, holding her hands up like that was going to do shit.

“Why the fuck would we believe anything you say,” I basically spat at her. Fuck, I loved this feeling.

“Because I’m telling the truth. Jillian brought me back and she-“

Of fucking course she would bring you back,” I say, knowing that there was a fucking catch to Jillian being so helpful. I should’ve known that she was doing it more for herself than she was doing it for Andy.

“She saved me, Harry. I know you don’t believe me but-“

“You’re fucking right we don’t believe you.”

“Niall,” she pleaded, looking at her ex lover.

“What Lilly? What do you want me to think,” he asked, clearly looking defeated and confused.

“I watch you basically kill yourself, leave me with our daughter on my own and basically haunt her as she grows up while saying some fucked up shit about why you did it. And now I see you here after months, a year even and you want me to think that you had some sort of life saving epiphany or some shit because Jillian brought you back?”

“I have a lot to explain. If you would just let me explain-“

“I don’t think he wants to hear any of your shit.”

“Niall, you know me better than anyone. Hell, you can even read my fucking mind. I swear I’m not lying to you. I swear I’m better now. Jillian did this for me. I knew I was turning, it couldn’t be helped. She had a plan because she knew Niall. I could see what I was doing to you even after I was gone. I hated the way I treated you and Andy, I really did. And then I saw you met Hanna. You need Hanna. As much as I hate seeing you loving someone else, you need her. She was made just for you Niall. I wouldn’t be saying all of this if I was trying to trick you. I swear it.”
