Chapter Twelve

Niall POV

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

What kind of bullshit was she trying to tell me? That there was another one of me out there somewhere? That I was part of that? I knew about Drake, but I didn't think there were others and that there was going to be more.

“You know exactly what that’s supposed to mean,” she said, lowering her head at me.

“So what you’re telling me is I’m basically the walking Vampire Diaries?” She nodded her head. “You have to be fucking kidding me.”

“Well, not exactly. Vampires don’t exist.”

“No but we do, right? That’s what you’re telling me?” I was getting more than angry. But the sad part is, I knew what she was talking about and I could see it happening; the magnetic pull that she had on me, something always bringing me to her, I could feel it all. I wanted to be near her. I wanted to touch her. But I also knew I had Hanna; how was I supposed to explain to her this?

“I know you’re worried about her,” she answered my thoughts. “I don’t know how to explain that to you.”

“What can you explain to me, Lilly?”

She looked up at me. “What do you want to know?”

“Everything you know, everything about… me I guess?”

She nodded her head, walking in front of me with her hands behind her back before she found a fallen tree to sit on. She crossed her legs, siting Indian style and beckoned me over. I walked over to the stump, leaning on it with my back towards her and my arms crossed over my chest. She shook her head, but continued anyways.

“Well, what I know right now is very vague, if I can remember correctly. The first time I met you, was when you were in the form of Drake. I didn't know he was immortal till after he courted me, taking me away from my family and basically keeping me hostage.”

“He took you from your family and kept you hostage?”

She nodded her head. “He tortured me for two months, up until I had gotten away. And up to then, I’m sure you know the story.”

“How did you feel about Drake before you found out?”

“I thought he was the best thing that ever happened to me,” she answered honestly. “He was a true gentlemen, well for being back in the late 1880s.”

“That’s how old you are? You’re from the 1880s?” I turned around to face her, my expression stunned. She nodded her head. “You lied to me then! You told me you were from the 1900s.”

“I was a few decades off,” she said with a wave of her hand. “Forgive me, I’m old.”

“I’ll fucking say,” I said as I turned back around, earning me a smack on the back of the head. “Fucker!”

“Don’t get smart when I’m trying to help you out,” she scolded. “Anyways, after he changed me, things went back to the way they were when he first started to court me. We went all over the world and met others. I didn't know that every time one of us died, a new one would take form. Which kind of explains why you’re here.”

“So when you died, there was another one of you then?” She nodded her head. “So where is she?”

She shrugged. “I guess she’s somewhere around. She wouldn't be where we are right now. It’s a magnetic pull that brings us together. I was already here which explains the connection we already have. When I first met you, something told me to come back here so I did. A couple months later, that’s when I met you.”
