Chapter Ten

Lilly POV

“You can’t be serious,” I pace back and forth, holding my head as I tried to understand what Jill was telling me.

“It’s the prophecy, Lilianna. He’s a descendant and since you came back, his feelings for Hanna are slowly going away. The world has to be back in balance and this is its way of doing so.”

She has to be speaking nonsense to me. There’s no fucking way that Niall was getting his feelings back and that we’re meant to be together forever. There couldn’t have been more of us. That would mean that I had a doppelganger somewhere and that there was more to come. Was that why Drake and I got on so well? Was that why he looked exactly like Niall but slightly different? Was history really repeating itself and something more was about to come?

“How do you know all of this,” I asked my sister as I tried to understand.

“Witches talk on the other side.  Our family was one of the strongest clan of witches. You turned before you got your true powers; otherwise you would be both a witch and Immortal. You would’ve been first of your kind. Niall has a doppelganger as well.”

“Can the link be broken?”

She gave me a look, as if to ask me if I was crazy or something.

“You really want to break the bond? You would mess up the balance of the world if that ever happened.”

“But Hanna…”

“I know about Hanna,” Jillian said as she read my thoughts.

“There will always be a Hanna in the equation but in the end, it doesn’t work. Why do you think you had Andy? Anne carries the doppelganger bond.”

“How is that even possible? She’s only human.”

“You started off human as well, remember?”

My head was spinning. I couldn’t take in all this information. Anne was my doppelganger. She was the one that would keep the world in balance until another doppelganger would be born. I don’t know how I didn’t see it before. Probably because I was stuck in the darkest part of my mind for at least a year.

“Does Niall know about this?”

She shook his head.

“Not completely. He met Drake before, you know that. He got to see him and everything. But he doesn’t know where his doppelganger is. There is a way to find him, but that would take me frying his brain. Which… I don’t really have a problem with…”

I glared at her, imagining me snapping her neck.

“No need to kill me,” she said while holding her arms up in defense.

“You’re talking about the love of my life, apparently.”

She shrugs.

“He hates me just as much as I hate him. I knew bringing you back would piss him off. Plus, I got my sister back so it was a win/win.”

I rolled my eyes, not being able to suppress a smile. Jillian was a lot of things, but most of all she was the best sister I could have. Her morals probably weren’t in the right spot all the time, but she meant well.

I walked over to her and hugged her, loving the feeling of her arms around me. It was funny that even though I killed her once, she understood and forgave me for doing so. I was scared back then and my family hunted what I was. How was I supposed to know if she wouldn’t kill me or not?
