Chapter Twenty-Two
L I L L Y
As we were walking back into the house, I couldn’t really hear anything going on inside. That started to worry me. I dropped Niall’s hand, reaching up to push the door open. My eyes searched around the room, seeing Andy lay there on the couch, but something was off. I walked over to her sleeping body and took in her features. She looked older.
I felt Niall come up behind me and he hissed. “Fucking hell… Jillian,” he yelled, his anger boiling over. She came down the stairs, her eyes glossy. “What the fuck did you do?”
“You really think I have something to do with this?”
“You sure as hell did last time,” he scoffed, clenching his fists by his side. Jillian glanced at me and I could tell she had been crying. She took her attention back to Niall.
“I swear, I didn’t do this one. I’ve been practicing the spell for you guys. I-I didn’t have the time to-“
“Where are the rest of the lads,” Niall asked, cutting her off.
“T-they went out. Said something about their girlfriends.” She looked back over to me and I jumped. “I swear Lillianna, I didn’t know-“
“Who are you talking to down there,” an all too familiar voice asked. My body went rigid. No…
Her heels made contact with the wooden stairs, the sound echoing off the walls. Niall looked at me as if to ask me who was coming down. I didn’t answer him; I couldn’t answer him. Her blonde hair fell in short waves, having her hair tucked under so it looked shorter than what it really was. She wore a long skirt, the look of it like silk as it flowed down her legs. Her cream shirt was tucked in, covered by a black cardigan she was wearing. Her face looked the same as once before. She smiled warmly at me as she came to a stop at the top of the staircase.
“Hello dear,” she greeted me.
“Mum.”

“Mum,” Lilly croaked out, making my eyes widen. Now that I look at the woman in front of me, I could see the similarities. Her eyes were a soft blue, much like how Lilly’s used to be before she got turned. Her cheeks held a rosy color, accenting her face as well as her eyes. This lady was absolutely breathtaking, and now I know why Lilly was too. Jillian didn’t look like her mum at all, making me think that she took after her father rather than her mother.
“Aren’t you going to hug me, dear,” her mum asked playfully as she continued down the stairs to stand a few feet in front of us. My body stiffened as Lilly withdrew from me to go into the arms of her once dead mother.
“How are you…,” Lilly began to ask. “But I…”
“Yes, you did,” her mum answered as she looked Lilly in the eyes. “But I have good friends in the right places. They preserved my body for me until the right time. I came to help you.”
“Help me? Help me how?”
Her mum’s eyes flickered over to me and my body stiffened. “That’s enough questions right now. How about I make some tea and you can introduce me to my granddaughter and her lovely father.”
