Since I could remember, the legends of the town were always supernatural. Every year around the same time my town would tell that story of vampires and wolves. I thought they were scary when I was 4 but now that I'm older I don't worry so much.
The story was the same as always, a wealthy merchant from Texas moved to our town with his son. At that time vampires roamed at night like animals stalking humans as prey. In the legend the merchants son had ran off late and night and found him nearly dead. They suspected he was bitten by a vampire. In the merchant's rage over losing his only son, he started a group of vampire hunters and after a few months, vampires seemed scarce.
Thinking his son is somewhat alive, he never buried him but left him in his bedroom as if in a coma. He soon died of tuberculosis and the house was left alone. Some rumored to have seen his son on Halloween but there was no proof.I was glad to leave that behind after I went to the garrison school to move away from my family. They believe vampires are everywhere and we should kill them all. I know vampires are dangerous, it still doesn't seem right to kill them.
Since I was home for a few days, a few of my friends and I wanted to take a camping trip. It was more their idea than mine. They'd heard the legend of my town and wanted to see a real vampire. Pidge is fascinated by anything supernatural, hunk just wanted to try my mom's cooking and lance wanted to have a vampire girlfriend.
This was already becoming an interesting trip when lance thought he could drive and nearly wrecked my car. We set up camp in the woods near my house so if we didn't stay outside long then we'd at least stay at my parents house. It was getting fun when we started telling scary stories which were really cheesy. Hunk ended up getting sick and stayed inside. Lance and pidge kept talking and I felt like the third wheel so I got up and went for a walk.I remember the walks with my grandma when I was little. She'd always take me to the creek to make a wish in the water. As I was walking I noticed footprints. Unless someone else was out here or those were there for a while. Being the curious person I am I followed them. A few feet later they stopped. When I looked up, my heart started to race, it was the old Kogane house.
