Jude

"Mike and I couldn't afford two babies with the wages we had." Stef whispered as she wiped her eyes and I shook my head. "We didn't want to leave one or the other, we wanted both."

"Well, what stopped you from going back for her?" I asked and Stef looked over at Lena, and sighed.

"I didn't want to drag her away from everything she knew to a new lifestyle." Stef responded simply but I could see how much it hurt her.

"You pretty much did that to her anyway." I said angrily.

"I know, Jude." Stef with a nod. "Please, just keep this between us, three. I need to get Callie sorted here so I know she will not run when I do tell her."

"So, you are suggesting I lie to everybody?"

"It won't be really lying because they don't even know anything."

"It is still keeping something from them and I am not okay with that." I stood up and Stef gave me a pleading look.

"Jude, please." She begged as she tried to take my hand but I pulled away. I got my bag and ran out of the school then walked along the beach as the memories flashed back.

"What were you two thinking?" A man who I knew was Bill screaming at Mariana and Jesus as I stood behind something. No one knew I was here because I had escaped from that Stef lady.

"It was getting cold, Bill." Jesus whispered as he looked down at his fingers.

"So, you decided to mix dangerous chemicals?"

"It said it was flammable so it means it will have fire right?" Mariana's quiet voice questioned. Bill sighed and I saw him rub his forehead.

"I forgot you are only 10 years old." Bill whispered. "Jude was lucky enough to have you two."

"Are we going to ever see him again?" Jesus questioned softly.

"I don't know yet." Bill whispered.

"Please, Bill. Let Jude stay with us." Mariana begged quietly. "You can't separate us, we only have each other."

"I will see what I can do but I can't make promises, you both know that." Bill said then the twins nodded.

"If we can't be a package deal, can you promise that Jude will be safe?" Jesus questioned softly.

"Every foster family is safe-" The twins burst into their sarcasm laugh because we all knew that was the biggest lie Bill has told us.

"So, that is why we are running away because they are so safe." Mariana questioned and I giggled then Bill turned around.

"Jude!" He exclaimed and I stood out of the shadow.

"Billy!" I squeaked  as I ran into his arms and embraced him into a big hug.

"Hey little buddy! Shouldn't you be with Stef?" And on cue, Stef walked in looking flustered.

"I turned my back for one second and he runs off!" Stef explained with laughter. "You know these places can be very busy. You could get lost Jude!"

"No, he knows how to read things." Jesus interrupted and Stef looked over with a smile.

"Well, aren't you a smart boy?" Stef turned around and poked my nose. I started to warm up to Stef and felt like I wish she could foster us.

"Stef, can I talk to you for a minute?" Bill asked as he placed me on the bed with Mariana then I crawled over to her and she sat me on her lap as both adults walked off.

"I love you, baby boy." Mariana whispered as she kissed my head and Jesus smiled over at me.

"Jude!" I looked up and turned around as Brandon and Callie came running towards me. I found myself making my way home. "Hey, why are you crying?" Brandon questioned as I felt my face that now was moist.

"Nothing." I whispered and smiled at both of their concern faces. Callie looked a lot happier than she was at lunch.

"Mama and Mum told us to come to find you. They seem a bit worried." Brandon whispered as he swing his arm and took me in a side hug as we walked home.

"It's nothing, really. I just had an argument with Mums about something." I answered back softly.

"That is very rare. The golden boy getting in trouble." Brandon joked and I cracked a smile as I heard Callie's soft laugh. I laughed too.

Stef

"Great." I exclaimed as Jude ran out. "I really done it this time."

"Stef." Lena cooed as she took me into her arms and hugged me.

"I was wrong to ask him to lie for us." I shook my head.

" I can agree with that." Lena whispered then I burst into tears into her chest.

"How can I be so stupid!?" Lena sighed as I clutched her arm as I sobbed as the memory of when Bill asked me if I could take Jude and the twins in.

"I know that you and Lena are really wanting to find Callie and I know that we aren't any help anymore because your rights for her are gone, and she is listed to be adopted by the family."

"Bill, that is bullshit." I whispered angrily. "Biological parents should be considered first!"

"You should consider fostering Jude, Mariana and Jesus!" Bill interrupted.

"I can-"

"Before you say you can't, say you can and try." I sighed. Jude was so cute and the twins were an older version of the cheeky, escape artist. Lena would fall in love with them at first sight just like I did. I nodded and Bill fist pumped the air.

"I will call Lena and check." I whispered and Bill nodded. I dialed Lena's number as soon as I stepped outside and she answered quite quickly.

"Hey!" Lena's voice answered.

"Hi." I cooed softly. "How is B?"

"Missing his Mummy!" Lena answered then laughed. "So, why are you calling?"

"Three kids without a home to go too and they were involve in a fire over night in a shed. They haven't be taken care of for who knows how long and they are twins and a younger brother. They are to die for. So cute and I fell in love at first sight."

"Bill found a perfect match for us?" Lena asked and I laughed as happy tears fell down my eyes.

"Hell yeah!" I fist pumped the air. "You better bring your pretty face and our son to meet this three cuties."

"Okay, we will be there soon, my love." Lena whispered in a excited tone with a squeal. We hanged up after saying our 'I love you's then I ran in and hugged Bill. 

"She said yes!" I exclaimed and Bill laughed.

"I wasn't worried about Lena. I was worried about you!" I giggled and then we walked in to explain the situation to the three kids. It was really a win-win situation. They wanted to be together and we wanted kids who were loving and caring. We hit the almost jackpot. I really want Callie girl though. My little princess. My angel. My guardian angel. That was who I really wanted.
