I lied in my bed in silence then Lena walked in and lied next to me to pull me close to her. "This will never work out." I whispered hopelessly but I felt Lena shake her head.

"Callie and Brandon are struggling with this, and they need time. And they need space." Lena whispered and I shook my head. Lena sat herself up then sat me up. "No. You don't get to this."

"What?" I said breathlessly and she looked at me with a frown.

"You can't hide because you are scared to see the anger on Callie's face. And scared of seeing your children give you looks of hatred. You need to be brave." Lena said as she got up. "Starting now, we are going to go to sleep and wake up tomorrow. And start being her parents. No matter what she says or Brandon."

"This will never work out." I said as soon as she shuts the light out.

"I am going to prove you wrong." And I laughed softly as I wrapped my arms around her and fell asleep.

Callie

I woke up and saw Jude standing there. "Oh. Hey there." I whispered as I sat up and he smiled.

"Morning!" He said brightly then sat next to me. "It's a little early for breakfast." I nodded and looked at him closely.

"Is everything alright?" I asked and shallowed my spit. "I mean with you."

"Yeah... Yeah." He said as he looked up at me and smiled. "I just need some advice..."

"Yeah?" I said with a laugh as I moved some of my brown hair out of my face. "I am not that good with advice, buddy. But, I will try.."

"I like this person.. But... He is sending me mix symbols." He whispered and I nodded. "His father hates me because we kissed once and because my parents are same sex couple."

"His father sounds like a jerk and this person just seems confused." I said as I took his hand. "You both are so young.. Don't rush. Let him think."

"Thanks, Callie." I smiled at him as he smiles. "I love you." He whispered almost to himself but my heart fluttered. He was cute and I knew I couldn't be mad at him so I put my arms around him.

"I love you too." I said and kissed his forehead. He was easy to get along with and I do love him. He is trying his hardest to make me feel I belong. But, I know that I don't and will never belong.

I walked downstairs, grabbed a banana then my lunch. I walked out but Lena stopped me. "Hey, where are you going?" I raised my eyebrows at her.

"School..." I said as I pointed to the front door but she took my wrist as I just to walk again. "What is your problem?"

"I don't want you to go by yourself.." She admitted softly. "You still are new to this neighborhood-"

"And lifestyle." I muttered under my breath and she sighed.

"I will grab Mariana-"

"I will go!" Jude said as he hopped towards us and I smiled at him as I ruffled his hair. I looked at Lena and I gave her a look so she nodded.

"Okay. See you both later alright.." She trailed softly and kissed Jude's forehead. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and saw Stef in her uniform.

"You two leaving already?" I looked away but Jude answered.

"Yeah!" Jude said in a excited tone. "I want to see if I can print my assessment in the library." I looked at Jude and smiled at him then I looked slowly up at Stef who looked at me.

"Come on, Jude." I said softly looking away as I started to walk out the door and heard a sigh from Stef.

I walked fast and Jude jogged to be able to stay by my side. "Slow down, Callie." He pleaded softly and I stopped.

"Sorry." I said as I tied my hair up in a messy pony tail. "I walk fast when I am thinking about something." He looked at me as we slowly walked as we were already close to the school.

"This is a bad situation for you.." Jude whispered and I nodded.

"I hate living with a woman who didn't want me." I muttered under my breath. "She didn't want me then so why would she want me now."

"Maybe you should talk to her.." Jude suggested slowly and softly and I shrugged my shoulders.

"I am done with the talking." I said as I guided us to the beach. "I don't want to play family with her."

"It isn't playing if she really loves you and wants you back."

"It is playing for me because I don't want her." I said as I sat on the warm morning sand. "I didn't need her for this long so why would I need her now?" He shrugged as he looked at me listening to me. "I am going to get emancipated, Jude and you can't tell them.."

"Okay." He whispered sadly and I put my arms around him.

"It doesn't mean you will never see me again though. You are like a little brother to me. I will make sure I will see you enough that you will probably get sick of me." I smiled at him and his smile got bigger in excitement.

"Mariana and I are close but I think we will become even closer." I smiled at him and nodded.

"Treat us equally." I whispered as a gust of wind came. "Because we will love you equally."

"Okay!" He said then the bell went off. "I have to go now."

"How about that assessment?" I questioned as I stood up and he smiled again with a laugh.

"I lied." I smiled at him as we saw the others pull in with Lena. "I knew you would rather have me with you at the moment." It was true.

"Okay. Bye." I said as I hugged him quickly and he ran off. I looked back at the car and saw Lena watching from afar. I looked away then looked back seeing another person talking to Lena. I shrugged and made my way to class where Brandon would be.
