Callie
I gave the lady a cold glare when she opened her eyes. She gave me a look of pity and I shook my head as I crossed my arms. "My manners?" I said now looking at Bill. "Where was her manners?" I pointed to the lady with blond hair who kept staring at me and wouldn't stop.
"I am sorry, Callie." The lady said with a small smile filled with pity. "I am Stef and this is Lena."
"Okay and I am Callie." I responded back then looked at Bill. " Are they dykes?" I said with a whisper but made sure both ladies' heard and Bill frowned with disapproval.
"Okay, Callie. You do not call people that and I don't know how many times I have to tell you-"
"Whatever Bill. How long do I have to stay here for?" I asked as I grabbed my bag and swung it onto my back.
"Indefinitely." Bill said then turned to the two ladies. "I hope everything will turn out okay." Stef nodded her head but I was puzzled.
"What the hell?" I questioned and everybody looked at me.
"Doesn't matter." Lena whispered then lead Bill to the front door. I then looked back at Stef as she put her hands in her pocket awkwardly.
"Bill said you been through this before." I said rudely. "So, why are you so nervous?" I questioned and she looked at me.
"I am not nervous." She whispered and I laughed.
"Okay whatever." I said as she looked at me again with the pity look as Lena walked in.
"Well, let's get you sorted out." Lena whispered then looked at the ground expecting a suitcase, I assume.
"I just got a bag." I explained with a laugh. " My things got stolen so I didn't bother asking anyone to buy me new things." I added and both looked at me again with pity and then they guided me to an already decorated room.
"You will sharing with our daughter, Mariana." Lena said as she pointed to one of the beds. "That is your side and you can do anything you want with it."
"I rather not because I am probably going to be chucked back into the juvie center or even better a group home." I said as I chucked my bag on the bed and saw their faces drop a little.
"It's your choice, Callie." Lena whispered with a reassuring smile. "Bill told me that if you really don't want to go back to juvie or a group home, you can give us a chance."
"Why would you want me?" I asked angrily as I threw my bag onto the bed and stood there with my arms crossed. "My own parents didn't even want me." I spat at both of them. "So I don't get too attached to each family I am forcefully put into. It will only be teared away from me in a matter of seconds."
Stef
"My own parents didn't even want me." It rang in my head and I wanted to scream at Callie that we did want her, we really did. I thought it was for the best but clearly my baby girl isn't happy but she is broken. "So I don't get too attached to each family I am forcefully put into. It will only be teared away from me in a matter of seconds."I shallowed my spit and turned around.
" I am just going to get ready for work." I whispered and Lena looked at me sadly then nodded. I walked to Lena's and my room then started to slowly get ready for work as tears slowly fell down my face.
Lena
Callie stood there staring at me and I could see that she looked so much like Brandon. But acted so much like Stef. "I am the principle at Anchor Beach Charter but Bill probably mentioned that and Stef is a police officer. " I laughed nervously. "Bill probably mentioned that too."
"He did." Callie nodded as she unfolded her arms.
"Anyway, are you ready to head to Anchor beach with me? You can just hang with me until you meet the gang at lunch then you get to go with Brandon since you have the same classes with him."
"Well, you don't waste any time, do you?" She said rudely and I was a little a taken back.
"Excuse me...?" I said and she laughed.
"You are excused." She answered in a simple tone and grabbed her bag off the bed.
"Uh okay then let's go." I whispered and then I lead the way downstairs. She followed behind with her bag on her back slowly. "Leave that here." I ordered softly.
"What?" Callie answered coldly. " You think I am going to run off? You would think I was stupid to run off. I don't want to go to back to juvie or go to a group home. I rather be with dykes then there."
"You need to stop calling us dykes!" I ordered sternly.
"Aw, why?" Callie cooed meanly. "Is little Mrs Dyke getting offended?"
"I am actually." I responded back as I folded my arms.
"Too bad." Callie pushed past me which reminded me of when I was in high school when people found out I like girls instead of boys. Stef walked down the stairs as Callie went outside to the car and I looked at her desperately.
"She will get better." Stef said softly but it didn't sound like she could believe her own words.
"I hope so. I am willing to try because of the circumstances but we both know if she wasn't you know who I would be giving her back."
"I know, baby." Stef whispered as she gave me a kiss. "You would send her back to Bill but you would always try." I sighed and we walked outside in the sun and saw Callie looking at us.
"Better get going." I whispered and Stef nodded.
"I love you." She whispered and I told her the same then unlocked the car.
"Finally." Callie mumbled and I sighed as we drove to Anchor Beach in silence.
