Callie

I smiled at Brandon who was standing there with his books in his arms and he looked goofy. "Hey Bro." I greeted him and he smiled at me.

"You left early with Jude!" Brandon said as we walked inside to our classroom and I nodded as we both sat down. "I was going to pick you up?"

I nodded again. "Jude needed to print an assignment and I needed to get out of there without much conversation."

He nodded this time as Timothy, our teacher walked in and I sighed softly.

"I don't want to be here.." I growled softly and Brandon laughed softly as he opened up his textbook. "But I kind of wish I was still in a group home or something."

"It can't be that bad.. That we met.." Brandon whispered as Tayla walked in and gave me a death glare.

"No.." I said with a nod and smiled at Brandon. "I really can't believe I have a twin." We both laughed then Timothy started the class and I rolled my eyes.

"I am sorry I bailed by the way." Brandon whispered softly and I looked at him slightly. "I went to our Nana's..."

"Oh." I responded with a nod and he gave me a piece of paper.

"Here's the address - It's only a few streets away from ours." Brandon explained and I smiled at him. "Come over this afternoon and we can hang out.. We do have a lot to catch up on.."

I nodded and that was it because Timothy gave us both a hard stare as he taught the class.

I walked to Lena's office at the end of the day and knocked softly. She looked up from her desk and smiled at me. "Hey Cal, how was school?"

"It was okay.." I whispered as I sat down and she closed her laptop lid with a soft sigh. "I can't promise I will get good grades."

"That's okay, Callie." Lena responded with a nod as she leaned back against the chair and I sighed. "What I really want is for you to do the best you can.."

"I am going to meet Sharon.." I whispered softly as my eyes connect to Lena who nodded. "Brandon and I want to spend time together so I don't think I will be home for dinner."

Lena smiled at me as she sat up higher. "Thanks for letting me kno-"

"Did you think Stef could do anything about keeping me?" I blurted out fast and Lena's eyes showed shock but she quickly covered it up.

"All I know is that it must of been so hard to let you go.." Lena responded and I stood up with a nod of my head. "For what it is worth, she has suffered from the start and always thought of you."

"She doesn't know suffering like I do."

I stood up and grabbed my duffel bag as Lena stood up too. "I am sorry for what has happened to you.. No one deserves that."

I looked over at her and she smiled sadly at me.

"Maybe one day I will be able to accept that apology." I whispered then walked out of there quickly and found Brandon at the gate.

I wiped the tears away from my eyes as he turned around and I threw myself into his arms which felt welcoming.. A sense of familiarity hit me.

"Wow."

We both said at the same time and then he kissed my head. "This feels so... Familiar." He whispered and I nodded as I pulled away from him. "I didn't think I ever needed a hug so much until now."

"I know." I laughed and he laughed too.

We walked to Sharon's house and talked like normal siblings do.

"Nana, we are back!" Brandon yelled as we walked into the kitchen and someone came from the outside the backyard. Her eyes widen and she smiled as the familiarity hit me.

"Nana.." I cried out softly as I walked over to her and she wrapped her arms around me.

I heard little sniffles and I felt worried for a second then realized she missed me. "Cal Bear..." She cooed into my ear as she rubbed my back. "You have grown so big, my little cute Cal Bear."

Tears fell down my eyes as Brandon watched on with a small smile. "Nana... I... I.."

"It's okay.." She whispered as she stopped the hug and held me close. "I should've done better for you, Cal.. I didn't know until it was too late.. But if I-"

"It's okay..." I whispered as I held my hands up to her face and laughed softly. "I am here now.." A memory popped up in my head.

She held me in her arms tightly but it was comfortable. "What's this letter?"  I was too small to be able to say words yet. "A." She whispered into my ear and I smiled at her then clapped my hands.

"A is for ants." Nana responded with a giggle and pointed to the picture. "Ants crawl up the picnic basket to sneak a few crumbs for their babies."

I tried to say the letter A... Nana still cheered me on and encouraged whatever bubble I had said. B came over and did the same then we all started laughing.

"My grandbabies.." Nana whispered as B and I were falling asleep in our crib. "Nana loves you all so much.. My little B and my little Cal."

"Cal?" I looked up at B who offered me a cup of coffee which I took as Nana sat us down on the lounge.

"Thanks B." I responded softly as he handed Nana her cup of tea.

Nana couldn't stop admiring me and I looked down with a laugh. "Nana, I am not going to disappear."

"I know, sweets." Nana nodded as she looked down with a laugh. "But I haven't seen you since you were only a little toddler.. Now that you are in front of me, I can't stop.."

I took a sip of my tea and sighed. "You are so beautiful, Nana." I stated softly admiring her lovely blondish brown hair. "More beautiful than I remember."

"Ditto." She laughed as B sat down next to me and he smiled at me. "We have so much to catch up on.."
