Cassandra's Point of View

"Kid? Let go." Mahinahon kong sabi sa munting bata na kasalukuyang nakakapit sa leeg ku.

"Mi-oh ain't a goat's baby so stop callin' me a kid. Call Mi-oh Mah baby." Whoah. I guess we have a smart kid here now have we? But the fact na baka mahubaran ako kaya kelangan niya pa ring bitiwan ako.

"Okay Mi-oh let go of ate Cassie's neck." Pang aali ko sa bata at dahan-dahang inaalis ang malilliit nitong braso na tila butiking nakakapit sa'kin.

"Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo." At mas humigpit pa ang yakap nito. Please remind me after every five seconds that this thing on my neck is a child. Baka kako malimutan ko at gamitan ko 'toh ng pliers para matanggal.

"oh hija, i see you already met your li'l sister Mio."  Napaangat kaming dalawa ng tingin sa parating kong ina and my eyes widened because of what she said.

"Sis-sister?" Huminga ako ng malalim at tinignang muli ang mukha ng batang sa kasalukuyan ay nag be-beautiful eyes. "Uhhh mom? Can you please get her off of me? My dress' lace would snap off anytime now."

"Oh.. sorry dear. Mio. come baby, you're choking ate cassie. You don't wanna hurt her do you?"

Alo ni mama sa kanya at naramdaman ku namang unti-unting bumibitaw ang maliliit niyang braso. At nagpakarga na kay mommy.

"Shoorry. But fist (first), She *turo saken* is not my a-ate Cashhiiee. She's my momma. She's pwetty yike Mi-oh, ayt Mommmy?" Nilingon pa ako nito at tinignan ako na para bang sinasabing "You gotta agree because you don't want to make me cry now would you?"

But instead of saying anything ay nginitian ko nalang sila. Pero bigla namang nagpout si mommy sa sinabi nya.

"Cass?!! Why so unfair?? Tita tawag niya saken tas sayo MOMMY?!"

Mommy whined like a little kid at pinahid pa ang imaginary luha niya. Napailing nalang ako sa kanilang dalawa at marahang hinilot ang sentido ko.

"Put me down tita." Pagkababang-pagkababa ni Mio ay lumapit ulit siya saken at sinubukang abutin ang kamay ko.Pero dahil sa liit niya at sa taas ng heels ko ay 'di niya ako naabot kaya hinawakan nalang niya ang dulo ng dress ku. At nginitian ako.

The party went well at sa buong oras nayun ay nasa tabi ko lang si Mio. Di ba toh nahirapan? Kanina pa kase ako palakad-lakad eh. Picture pa ako ng picture (She's not included in the picture.) I glance at the watch at 9:46 na pala ng gabi.

"Psst Mio, aren't you tired yet? It's way past your bedtime." Tawag ko sa munting paslit at napansin ko pa itong nag hikab. Naging medyo kulay rosas na rin ang mga pisngi at ilalim ng mata nito tanda na inaantok na talaga.

"A bit, but I can't sleep in my room. It's too big." sagot niya at mas sumiksik sa tabi ko.

"Well you should get used to it. This is your home now. Besides I gotta go."

Napatitig sa akin si Mio at bigla-biglang nanubig ang mga mata nito. Teka, teka, ba't toh umiiyak? May nasabi ba akong mali?

"Y-you're l-living Mi-oh t-too?" Pahikbi nitong tanong.

Pagkasabi niya nun ay parang may kung anong bumara sa lalamunan ko. I felt my stomach twitched and somehow I felt her loneliness.. or is it just me?

"Come."  Pina upo ko sya sa lap ko at kinausap.

"Mio as much as I wanted to take you with me, I can't, not because I don't wanted to but because I won't be able to look after you since I'm still a student. Besides Mommy will be sad if you'll leave her here."

"You mean t-tita?" I giggled because of what she tried to clarify.

" yeah I meant tita."

"But will I ever see you again?" May halong lungkot sa tinig nito at medyo pumiyok pa ito.

"Of course, silly kid." sagot ko naman at medyo ginulo ang buhok niya. " Here's the deal, you be a good girl here and when my semestral break comes, I'll pick you up here and I'll take you on a vacation."

That cheered her up.

"Really? B-but-" lumungkot uli boses niya. Bipolar ba tong batang toh? "H-how l-long s-should I wait?"

"Not long enough baby." I smiled at her and gladly she smiled back.  "C'mon I'll tuck you to bed."

"I wuv you mommy."

Napatigil ako. Ano nga ba ulit ang ibig sabihin ng mga salitang yun? I smiled to her and replied,

"Yeah, me too."
