Jeanette's POV 💝

I took a deep breath in. There is no way this is happening. But there's no way escaping reality is what he said. And this is real.

He jumped in, sacrificed himself to save me. Didn't he realize that I'm not even worth it? What was he even thinking?

Everything felt wrong as I stood against my bedroom door, holding Mark's picture against my chest. All I have ever done for him was breaking him apart. I was wrong to step in the shed that Halloween. Wrong to drag him to my adventures. Wrong to kiss him in the Skyrim.

Everything was wrong. And it's still now.

A honk outside disrupted my thoughts. I didn't have to look. I directly went out the door and seated myself inside. On the driver's seat Emilia held the handle, her eyes searching the horizon. The sky was dark and which was exactly the same colour as her dress. I wore black jeans and a dark jacket over one of Mark's T-shirt.

She nodded and carefully pressed on the gas.

"Emilia I'm so sorry. This is all wrong. He didn't deserve this. I...... I.... was wrong. I could've been more carefu-"

She abruptly stopped the car and turned towards me. "Jean, for the last time, stop this goddamn explanation or I will......" Her voice broke before she could finish. "It's been 4 weeks since the accident and nothing can change. It's not your fault. He would've done the same for anyone."

But she doesn't know the truth. Anyone would have been different. I stood in front of the car on purpose, because accepting it would have stopped it. But Mark had other plans. Darker and more painful ones. I wanted to tell them but I knew none of them would believe me. Who would believe a silly little girl, with a silly little time loop story, who, kind of killed her bestfriend? No one.

"Let's just go." she finally broke the staring competition.
