-A couple of weeks pass-
My head laid upon Leon's chest as I listened to the steadily sound of his heartbeat all the more appreciating the beautiful and wonderful moment as he slept. His left arm rested on my waist, his warm hand under my shirt. His other arm he rested his head on instead of his pillow. My hand moved to his face, touching the little stubble of his beard with the back of my hand, then slowly moving up to his cheek, brushing his hair away from his resting, tired eyes. He looked so peaceful, like I could gaze at this moment forever. I slowly moved my hand down to his waist, just barely lifting up his shirt enough to place my hand on his gunshot scar and wrapping my arm around him. His hand gently slid up my side to my shoulder as he hugged me closer to him. I wish this moment could last forever. It may seem weird to some, but I'm happy I get to wake up every morning next to him and see him look so peaceful sleeping. Rays of sun shone through the curtains, lighting up his dark room, bringing in the morning of waking up next to the man who risked his life to find me, to save me. The love of my life, my rock. My heart and soul. My guardian angel. His tired ice blue eyes opened and made their way down to me. He smiled as he shifted his body into a different position, facing me with his head on his pillow and his hand on my face, brushing my long black hair behind my ear and placing his palm on my cheek.
"Good morning, babe." His raspy voice said with a smile, leaning over to kiss me.
"Good morning, Mr. Kennedy or should I say Superman?"
"How'd you sleep?" He asked.
"Just wonderful. As long as you're by my side."
"Always and forever." He said with a kiss.
I felt safe in his arms. This comfort feeling of my love embracing me. He covered us up with a thick blanket for cold nights and cold mornings. We were awake, but ready to go back to sleep. He tilted his head towards me and a serious expression washed over his face.
"Leon, what's wrong?" I asked, worried.
"I never thanked you for saving my life those times you did."
"Leon, you don't have to—"
"But I do. You risked everything for me, to save me and I've never thanked you for it. What you did and what you went through to get to me. I owe you in ways you can't even begin to imagine."
"You don't owe me anything at all, Leon. I would do anything for you to make sure you're safe because that's how much I love you and how much I will risk to save you. I'll go through hell and highwater. I'll gladly trade my life for yours."
"But I do, because you've risked everything you had to lose for me and you shouldn't have. I'm not that special."
"You are special to me. You risked your life to save me, to bring me back to myself when Umbrella had me under their control. If it wasn't for you, I don't know what could've happened. I could've killed you that day and it's stuck with me ever since."
