"Just stay with me, Leon! Please!"
He was fading and quick. I don't know how much time....I don't know how much time he has. His eyes would flutter open then close again. He was gasping for air through the breathing mask. Blood was still pouring through his shirt.
"Do something!" I yelled at the paramedics in such anger.
I wish I would've gotten there sooner to save him. He should've never went in alone. This is all my fault!!
There was too much blood. I gripped Leon's cold and bloody hand as the paramedics stuck us both in the back of the ambulance together. They started working to get him stable. There was no response coming from him. His chest would barely rise at that point. I brushed his hair away from his face that was covered in blood and cuts, hoping he would respond to me. Tears were starting to fall from his eyes.
"Please, Leon, stay with me! Please!!"
"We need to stabilize him before we can move him!"
"Then fucking do it now!" I yelled.
I can't lose him. I just can't. If I do I don't know what to do. I felt him slightly squeeze my hand has he barely tilted his head towards me with tears running down the side of his face. He tried to say something.
"Don't. Don't speak. Leon, I can't lose you. You have to hold on, please. I'm sorry I couldn't get to you sooner. I'm so sorry, but please don't leave me. Please. Just please, stay with me." I held on tight to his hand with tears streaming down my eyes. "You're all I have left!"
The ambulance was going as fast as it could to the hospital. Leon's heartbeat was slowing down. I started to beg God to spare him and let him live. His eyes had shut again. Every time he shuts his eyes, it scares me to think that's the last time he will open his eyes again. We finally arrived at the hospital and they quickly took him straight back to the ER. I tried to keep up as quickly as I could. One of the doctors stopped me at the double doors.
"I'm sorry, ma'am, but you can't come back here."
"I don't give a shit! I have to make sure he's okay!"
I forced my way through as they took him straight into surgery. The doctors ran after me as I stood in front of the window, watching the doctors work quickly to save him. They came, trying to force me out of the room, I quickly drew my gun at them.
"Don't tell me again to fucking leave or someone else is going to die! I am staying here!" They slowly backed away. "Don't even think about getting security or I sure will raise all kinds of Hell. Don't waste anymore time on me. Go save him!" They didn't utter a word, and finally left me alone. I pressed my hands up against the window, with tears falling from my eyes. My knees felt like they were going to buckle at any given moment. Everything felt like it was in slow motion. Like the entire world had it's weight upon my shoulders. I kept my eyes on him, hoping he will pull through. All of a sudden, I heard beeping going off and immediately knew. I screamed, hitting the window as I felt someone pulling me away by my waist.
