The plane had finally landed at Edonia's snow-covered airport. The landing was a bit rough. We gathered our gear, documents, clothes and the brief case that had the injections guns still placed inside. Kara and I had already switched into our warmer attire before stepping off the plane. We were approached by Edonia's government officials, carrying automatic rifles. They looked more like military then just government officials with all the gear they had on. She looked at me with sudden fear in her eyes.
"Agents Kennedy and Rheyes?" The men said with European accents.
"Yes?" I said with a raised eyebrow.
"We'd like to welcome you to Edonia. We will escort you to your hotel."
"Our hotel?" Kara asked.
"Yes. Your agency has placed you there. Follow us."
We followed them to their suv and got in. The town we went through was small. Not many people look like they live here, but you'd be surprised how many did. It was too hard to see with the heavy falling snow. Cars were parked beside sidewalks, people were hurrying to get home. The hotel they stopped in front of wasn't enormous, but it wasn't small either. It was in between for a small town like this. Kara and I gathered our luggage and headed for the doors. The weather was a helluva a lot colder than any I've been in. Standing outside for 15 minutes without the appropriate clothing would kill you. So this is going to be a tough mission. The man at the desk handed us our keys and we headed to our room.
"This place is giving me all sorts of feelings that I do not like." Kara said cautiously. "We have separate rooms?"
I nodded.
"Oh, hell no. This place freaks me out, I'm sleeping with you."
"I was hoping you would say that." I said with a smile.
We came to my room and opened it. Not what I was expecting. Huge bed with giant windows, silk sheets and curtains. Nice flatscreen tv with a view of the streets below. There was plenty of room to set up our gear and still have enough room left over. It looks expensive. We had outfits laying on the bed with ear pieces and phones.
"What's this?" Kara said.
"Clothes, ear pieces and phones. I'm guessing these were all placed by Hunnigan. Do we get room service I wonder?" I asked, looking around.
"Across the street is a small corner pub we could get some food I saw on the way in. You can see it from here." Kara said, pointing at the corner pub below.
"I'll go get it. We should start setting up our gear and laying out the plans for the extraction. This isn't going to be easy."
"Don't worry. You get the food, I'll start setting everything up. I should be done when you come back. Please be careful, Leon."
"I will." I kissed her soft red lips and walked out of the door. It was a long, narrow walk down the hallway to the elevator. There was a slight draft I felt passing by a door that was slightly open. Room 201.It said. Part of me wanted to check it out, but the other part didn't. What do I do? I asked myself. So I slowly gripped the end of my gun as I drew it from its holster, pointing it at the door. Gripping the ice cold handle, I slowly pulled it towards me, took a small deep breath and swung it open, checking the room. The window was open and it had been open for quite some time. Snow had already covered part of the floor in three inches. Who in the world would leave a window open with a raging snow storm outside? There were no signs of struggle, no traces of blood, nothing. I heard a slight growl coming from the bathroom. I flipped on my laser and started walking slowly, yet lightly towards the closed door. Whatever is behind that door doesn't sound human anymore. I thought to myself. I watched out for where I stepped. One false move is all it takes. The growling got more fiercer. I stopped four feet from the door. There was a slight pressure just at the bend of my back. The barrel of a gun.
