Canto Bight

When you awoke, you were in unfamiliar territory. You were asleep for hours and found yourself on a cot inside of a small tent.

You groggily eased yourself up, wincing in pain as you felt pain inflict on your upper left arm where you were cut there previously. It was now stitched up but you were sure there'd be a nasty scar there later.

You wondered where you were. Having been asleep, you'd been disconnected from the force and from Kylo. Hell, you hadn't even known how long you'd been out for.

You heard some shuffling outside your tent and saw Lionel pull the covering back. He excitedly rushed over to you at seeing you awake.

"Y/N! I'm so glad you're awake! You'd been asleep for three days. We thought you may never recover. We had a helper stitch you up," he beamed, looking towards the entrance of the tent. Three days?! Holy hell. . .

Even if you had been out of it for three days, the force had certainly already rejuvenated your mind and soul.

You watched as a young man stepped inside. "Poe. Poe Dameron." He introduced himself. He crouched down to your level, carefully studying your injury. To your relief, someone had called for Lionel's  assistance. The boy gave you a small smile as he left you with Poe just as a circular droid followed in after him. "Oh, that's BB-8. He was keeping an eye on you for me," Poe smiled, looking over at the small little droid.

You gave the guy an appreciative smile, thanking him as he shook your hand. "I'm sure you know who I am," you said. Poe nodded, "Yep, you were one of the leaders of the Rebellion. Heard you were a damn good one, too." He replied.

Your face sunk. You shook your head. "I don't necessarily know if that's true. I failed a lot of people. . .they all died, Poe. I couldn't-"

Poe shushed you. "Shut up, Y/N. It wasn't you. It was Kylo Ren. He did that. So don't you dare think for a second that that was your fault." He sternly said, looking you in the eyes to show you he meant what he said.

You felt tears threatening to fall again but held back. Why did you miss him? Why did he even matter at all to you? He shouldn't have had that much of a pull on you and yet he did.

"Can um. . .can I ask as to where we are right now?" You asked, trying to change the subject and get your mind off of Kylo.

Poe was kneeling down trying to fix BB-8's antenna as you asked that question. "We are on Canto Bight at the moment. . . Ya know, the infamous casino city. We're looking for a guy named D.J. to get us into a hacking system to shut down the tracking of that asshole's ship."

"Kylo?" You mentioned. Poe looked at you like you were mental. "Uh, yes! He's alive and stopping at nothing to get you back Y/N. And not just you. He's still out to destroy what's left of us" he mentioned, us meaning what was left of the Rebel Legion's fleet.

"How can I help?" You piped up. You didn't want anything to happen to the rest of the resistance and if you could help track down this code breaker guy you'd find any possible way to reach out to him.

"Well, you're gonna have to get all dressed up. They won't let you inside their fancy million credit casinos looking like that," he mentioned, clearly noting your worn out and smoldered clothes.

"I've already sent Finn and Rose inside. If you can, try and meet up with them. Oh, and Y/N. . .don't do anything reckless. I believe you to be a leader so act professional in there," Poe stated.

"I'll have your friend Cora find you something to wear. In the meantime, there are showers inside the ship. Just walk a little ways out and you'll see it," he said.

You nodded. "Thank you, Poe. I'm thankful that you patched me up." You gave him a small smile. He simply nodded and walked out of the tent with BB-8, leaving you alone with your thoughts.

A bit later, Cora was getting you ready on the ship. She dressed you up in a slim fitting silk red dress that hugged your curves and had your hair elegantly done up in a bun with a few braids pulled around it.

"You're stunning Y/N. . ." She smiled, standing back to look at you. "Yeah, yeah. It's not about all this. I just need to get in there and help Finn and Rose. Poe showed me what they looked like. I need to focus on what's at stake and not this stupid party or whatever it is." You replied.

Although, you had to admit you looked beautiful. "Oh, don't forget your mask! You'll need it. Apparently it's masquerade evening at the casino." She mentioned, handing you a red and black jeweled masquerade mask. It perfectly accentuated your E/C eyes.

"You're all set. Now don't break too many hearts out there." Cora winked.
You rolled your eyes. "Mission? Remember?" You reminded her.

You arrived at the casino, clearly disgusted with all the money crazed rich people and aliens you saw gambling. You didn't care much for it at all. You didn't know why the rich had crazy amounts of credits to gamble away while some people were practically begging on the streets on other planets for a morsel of food.

You continued on with your search for Finn or Rose. No sign. You sighed, trying your best to blend in with the crowd. You grabbed a glass of champagne and sipped on it, keeping your eyes peeled for any sign of this code breaker you were searching for. You had your microphone tucked safely inside your ear for communication with the Resistance.

About an hour passed. You'd even asked around for the guy but no one was telling you anything. You began to feel like you hadn't made a single ounce of progress.

You walked out onto the balcony to get a bit of fresh air and to think things through.

You hadn't seen any sign of Finn or Rose yet and you began to give up hope.

You leaned out onto one of the small balconies and admired how actually beautiful the place was. You'd never seen anything outside of the galaxy as pretty as this place but you knew the corruption was what made it ugly.

You continued to look out into the stretch of gorgeous scenery until you felt a hand caress your stitched up shoulder. You tensed when you felt fingers tracing down it.

"Pity," you heard a muffled voice behind you.

You felt a jolt of force run through your body and it took hold of you at the touch of the sudden interaction.

"K-Kylo?" You whispered shakily.

This time, they got closer to your ear. "Such beautiful skin. . .tainted by such a nasty scar."

You slowly turned around. He pulled his mask from his face, only covering a half of it. (Think Phantom of the Opera)

The other half under his mask had revealed the scar you gave him.

Your eyes widened.

"So we meet again, Y/N."
