Ben was still out cold. He was placed on your shared bed to rest while your old Master wished to have a word with you.

You gave Ben a sympathetic look and leaned down to kiss his temple. You hadn't seen him in such a long time and you really wished you could just have some alone time with him. In reality, you knew that whatever Luke needed to tell you was more important.

He led you outside onto the balcony. "I haven't been to Naboo in years," he spoke, taking in the lake and mountains with his blue eyes. Those eyes had seen so much and you were about to find out what else they had seen.

He sighed, clearly wishing he could just avoid this whole showing up unannounced thing but he had to stop running. He was tired of running away.

"There's something you need to know about Ben. The way he is. . .why there is so much hate in him. . ." Luke said, casting his eyes to fixate on the sparkling water below.

"It would be easier to show you through means of the force." He said, turning his attention to you now.

"You know how to use psychometry?" You asked, amazed.

He just nodded once and place two fingers on your forehead.

"I will enter your mind but whilst doing so I will also allow you to enter my own. I am going to show you what happened on that night in Coruscant." He said, closing his eyes as you did the same.

You felt sick to your stomach. You knew you wanted to know what made Ben do it but you were not prepared to see it unfold.

You felt yourself slipping away, but you were seeing what Master Skywalker saw.

Through his eyes, you saw Ben. You saw him exactly how you'd remembered him on that fateful night. He was just lying in bed seemingly asleep.

That's when you saw the green lightsaber ignite. It was Luke's! Luke was going to kill Ben. You saw a cold gaze in your former Master's eyes. It freaked you out to see Luke so. . .menacing.

Then you saw Ben immediately grab hold of his saber as he tried to protect himself from Luke.

You were shocked. Why was Luke trying to kill his own nephew!?

And then you watched through Luke's memories as Ben tore through his tent leaving Luke lying on the ground.

Tears were starting to flood. You wanted out of his head. You needed to ask him why!

You pulled away from the effects of the psychometry and took a step back from Luke, breathing heavily.

"Why'd you try to kill him?!" You screamed, face red from anger and half sadness.

"Because," he sighed, knowing this was going to happen and knowing you'd have plenty of questions to ask, "I saw what he'd become. And it seems that it played out. It also means that not everything is true, Y/N! You can't be blinded by him! You don't see it but he's using you! You don't know it but you are a very powerful force user and with energy to harness such as yours he can use that to control you!" Luke yelled, trying to make you see.

"You don't know that!" You screamed, rage causing hot tears to sting your cheeks.

"You didn't even give him a choice! You were set on killing him!" You scoffed, wiping a tear from your cheek.

"I just don't want to see you go down that same path, Y/N! My mother died because of my father's choice! He didn't want to come back to the light no matter how she pleaded with him! What makes you think Ben could possibly be any different!?" Luke said, pacing back and forth.

"Because I believe in hope. Isn't that what the Jedi believe in? Without it, we might as well all give in to the dark side. I believe in him because no one else will." You said, standing your ground. You meant it, too.

"You say these things yet you aren't even sure yourself. I see your thoughts, Y/N. You doubt it sometimes too. I just don't want another prophecy to become another tale of woe and how a young Jedi full of hope got her trust stepped all over because she trusted in a heart that's dark!If you want to tread down this path. . .then may the force truly be with you. But don't say I didn't warn you," and with that he left without saying another word.

You stood there, thoughts swimming as you felt like what he had said made you both shocked and angry all at the same time. Just because something happened in the past didn't usually mean it would repeat itself, you desperately hoped.

Feeling livid, you decided to walk back inside your room to a sleeping and peaceful Ben.

You crawled under the covers and snuggled up close to him, listening to his heart beat.

You'd let nothing happen to him. You wouldn't. Even if you had to die to make sure that happened. You were in too deep at this point to even want to back out now.
