The Stalker

"Congrats."

I look up and saw Emily offering her hand so I took it.

After 3 years, the final decision for our annulment was released. And for the last 3 years, Emily is the one beside me while I long for her. She became my friend eventually. She told me that she loves me deeply that it was never easy for her to let me go but when she saw me after Belle left, when she saw how miserable I am, she learned to let me go and just stayed beside me.

She agreed on our annulment but it was her Father who keeps on pulling some strings kaya naman hindi agad nagbaba ng final decision ang korte.

"Now you can go get her," nakangiting sabi niya sa akin. Hindi naman nakatakas sa paningin ko ang luhang pumatak sa kanyang pisngi pero pasimple lamang niya iyong pinahid.

"Am I not going to see you again, Mommy?"

It was Cali who's in my Mother's arms with my Father behind them. Tahimik lamang ito. Alam ko na maging siya ay hindi gusto ang desisyon kong ito. He doesn't like my decision but we told him that it is our mutual decision kaya naman hindi na siya nakialam pa.

I don't know what will happen after I follow Belle in New York. I know my Father, he hates Belle's Father and I know he will do everything with all his might para lamang hindi ako makaalis ng bansa.

"Of course you can. You can be with me every weekends," pigil ang luhang sabi ni Emily sa anak namin.

"Why? Can't I be with you everyday like before? Don't you want me and Daddy anymore?" naiiyak na sabi ng anak namin.

"I'm sorry, baby. Your Daddy and I can't be together anymore but you can still see me every weekends while you stay with Daddy on weekdays. Besides, your school is near Daddy's place."

Hindi na muling kumibo pa si Cali at niyakap na lamang ang lola niya sa leeg.

"I'm going to see her," I told my Father. He was doing some paperworks but he immediately look up on me when I told him that. I was actually waiting for him to scold me, yell at me or throw things on me but he told me the least thing I'm expecting to hear from him.

"Okay," he said and get back to his work. Hindi ko naman maiwasan ang mapanganga at mapatitig sa kanya na para bang tinubuan siya ng isa pang ulo. Marahil naramdaman niya ang mga titig ko kaya muli siyang nag-angat ng tingin sa akin.

"Is there something else you want to say?" tanong niya ay napailing na lamang ako. "Then you can go."

Para akong robot na tumalima sa utos niya pero agad akong tumigil nang matauhan sa sinagot niya sa akin.

"Are you sick, Dad?" tanong ko sa kanya at nilapitan siya upang matignan kung may lagnat siya pero normal naman ang timpla ng temperatura niya.

"What are you doing?" tila naiinis pa niyang tanong sa akin pero muli ko lamang siyang tinitigan.

"You said okay. I'm talking about Belle. Mae Isabella Alcaire. The daughter of-"

"I know," putol niya sa sasabihin ko.

"And you just agreed that I will go after her?" tanong ko sa kanya. This time, tuluyan na niyang ibinaba ang mga papeles na hawak at tumayo. Lumapit siya sa akin at tinapik ang balikat ko habang nakangiti which send shivers to me.
