Long waits and Illusions

Screaming

It's what woke up Pidge as she sat on the med bay floor.

Pidge adjusted her glasses and looked around to discover the noise. She soon found it was from the unconscious girl, seemingly asleep in her pod.

Y/N's mouth wasn't opened, the scream was mental. Y/N is calling for help mentally, and it seemed the entire ship was getting the message. The other paladins, Coran, Kolivan, and Lake all ran into the room with an expression of worry. "What happened?!" Kolivan asked, his ears were curled shut trying to block out the noise. "Get her out of their" Allura ordered Pidge.

Pidge walked over to the pod and typed a series of words before the pod opened. Pidge managed to catch her, but Kolivan quickly took her into his grasp. "What happened?" Kolivan asked again. "Memories" Coran answered, "It appears that she is gaining her worst memories back, but they are painful. She remembered us enough to try and ask us for help."

Keith hated this, he wanted it to end. He wanted to stop her suffering, becuase he knew it would stop his.

Kolivan layed Y/N down on an examination table as the screaming in their heads died down. In what seemed like hours, she finally came to.

__Time Skip__

The team was now in the dining room, everyone was seated around Y/N who was silently picking at her food.

"How long was I out?" Y/N asked, not looking up. After a moment of silence there was an answer "Two months." Her head shot up, "Two months? I shouldn't have been in there that long" Y/N said. "Well you had to regrow bone marrow, cartilage, and connective tissue. The pod speeds this up, but it still requires time" Kolivan answered.

Keith was tired of unimportant questions, so he asked his own. "How much do you remember, of your time before the pod?" Y/N looked at him, puffed out her cheeks and sighed.

"I don't remember enough. I can recall your names, a small bit of white, and everything from my time in captivity" she answered, catching Hunk's attention. "What of your captivity?" he asked her, "I remember Haggar torturing me, Lotor's generals beating me and...Lotor." She responded to Hunk. "What did he do to you?" Pidge asked, "That's the thing...he didn't do anything to me, nothing except helped me." Y/N responded confused.

Shiro scoffed "I highly doubt that." Y/N glared at him "What did he do to help you then" Shiro said sarcastically. "When Zarkon requested me, Lotor didn't force me to see him. Lotor brought me his food claiming he wasn't hungry, brought me extra blankets and pillows. Everyday he'd stop bye and we talked,  everyday he promised the second I could fly again, he would make it painfully easy to escape. Everyday."

While the others seemed to alter their opinions on him, Shiro wasn't so convinced. "This is the son of an evil tyrant! Why would he do any of this?" Shiro asked, "And your the champion of the gladiator ring, but I don't judge you for that" Y/N shot back sharply, earning a few gasps.

Shiro glared at her, "Watch it" he barked, "Wow, I'm so terrified" Y/N said sarcastically, "What can you do to me? Nothing, you can't do anything" she said with a smirk.

Shiro lunged at her in pure rage, but before he could touch her a wall shot up out of no where. Shiro stumbled back surprised, giving Y/N time to get in position. She dropped the wall and immeadiatly back kicked Shiro. Shiro managed to block it before blindly swinging at her. The was he was swinging made it easy to avoid him.

Team voltron tried to stand and stop them, Y/N noticed this and clenched her fist. This caused handcuffs to shoot out of the chairs and connect themselves to their wrists before sticking back to the chair. "Ugh!!" Keith shouted as the others plopped back into their chairs. They noticed that Kolivan and Lake weren't trapped "Why didn't she cuff you two?" Hunk asked, "We know that she's aware of something we are not. Just watch and observe" Kolivan answered.

As Y/N was moving side to side dodging Shiro, he attempted to swipe across her stomach. Y/N caught this and ducked, taking the chance to knock Shiro off his feet.

She walked behind Shiro who was getting up, her back was turned to him. Shiro thought to use this as an advantage and ran at her. Just before he could hit her she grabbed his galran arm and flipped home onto his back, knocking the wind out of him.

As Shiro was trying to regulate his breathing, Y/N lifted her arm and made a motion similar to turning a key. Then she began muttering things like "Help" and "Energy" as she watched Shiro stand up again. "Why can't you just stop!?" Y/N shouted out tired of this. She lifted her arm and Shiro flew back into a wall, blood came from his human arm, "Ugh! You should not be conscious" she yelled.

The door to the Dining room swished open and Lotor came running in. Kolivan immeadiatly tried to restrain him, but stopped when he saw Y/N glaring at him for standing.

Lotor ran over to Y/N and stared at whatever was happening. "So you've apprehended him I see" Lotor said awkwardly "Hey, Princey! How about you shut up and help"  Y/N snapped at him. "Yes. Princess" he responded quickly.

Lotor mirrored Y/N's body, he synced their breathing and blinking, they were in perfect harmony.  As the two stood side by side they both lowered their arms still in sync. Shiro was screaming in pain during it all as he fell to his knees and clutched his head. Y/N and Lotor managed  get down on one knee, still lowered their hands.

The second both of their hands touched the floor, the screaming stopped and Shiro was unconscious. Y/N and Lotor were a panting mess on the floor, both exhausted. Lotor started to get to his feet and helped up Y/N in the process. She was leaning on him, and Keith didn't like it.

 "It was much easier last time" Lotor commented, "Yeah, well last time it was a child, that was a fully grown human with tainted quintessence running through half of him." Y/N said darkly, causing Lotor to smile.

Kolivan and Lake rushed over to their sister,

"Are you alright?"

"Did you get hit?"

"Should I get medical supplies?"

"Should I call dad?"

Y/N's head spun but she still answered them, "Yes, No, yes, definitely not" she answered in order. "He's didn't pick up let's try later" Lake said mischeviously. "I'm dropping form, it takes to much energy" Y/N said, soon being replaced by a female galra with blazing yellow eyes and big fluffy ears and a long tail.

Gasps were heard from those still sat at the table, until a large clank interrupted it. Keith was in galra form as he ripped of the handcuffs that held him. He then walked around and ripped off everyone else's cuffs Including Allura's, even though she looked terrified.

"You could have done that sooner" Y/N stated, "You would have stopped me" Keith responded, "I would have stopped you" Y/N agreed. "What the quiznack, was that?" Lance asked as he walked over to the group. "Why'd you do that to Shiro?"

Lotor and Y/N glanced at eachother worried, "That wasn't Shiro" she explained. "That was a clone made by Haggar" Lotor continued. "Cloning is old technology, why would she use it?" Allura asked, trying her best not to seem uncomfortable. "Not sure" Lotor answered, looking back at the clone, "Whatever it is, I fear for its result" Lotor said quietly. "Well, we'll have to be ready then. Won't we Princey?" Y/N joked, "Of course, princess" Lotor joked back.

"They are oddly domestic, in their own sense...it's weird" Pidge commented to Hunk, who nodded back. "Y/N only acts this way with people she trusts, and she is pretty good with that spectrum" Hunk whispered back, "Should we trust him?" Pidge asked quietly, but before Hunk could answer the answer "Yes" made it to Pidge's ears.

When Pidge looked up she saw Y/N staring at her. "Yes" Pidge heard again this time she realized The answer was in her head, and she decided to trust it. By the time Pidge looked back up, Y/N was talking to everyone like nothing ever happened.
