The next day, you and Barbara finish at Roosterteeth, and then go to big up Sophie. Just like yesterday, a big smile is on her face. She tells you that she had a great day, and then says she has really good news. You and Barbara look at her, curious and excited about what she has to say. " Conner told me his dad is gonna propose to his mom!"

" Really? That's awesome," says Barbara. Sophie nods really happily, and then turns to you. " Hey Dad, when did you propose to mom?" This makes both you and Barbara laugh, until she manages to compose herself. She turns to Sophie.

" Okay, I didn't mean to laugh," she apologizes. " It's just that I was the one who actually proposed to your dad." Sophie's eyes widen, and she asks if that was an option. This makes the two of you chuckle, before Barbara decides to elaborate on how she was the one who proposed to you.

-Flashback Barbara Pov-

Your father and I had moved in together already. We had been dating for a little bit over two years. I know people who date way longer before proposing. But, like he's said before, he and I had known each other for ever. Most people actually mistook us for a couple when we were growing up, and we acted like one. So, if you really think about it, your dad and I had been dating most of our lives.

We ended up going to different colleges, but we still managed to keep in touch really well. And then, we both ended up working at Roosterteeth. After I helped him get out of his relationship with Margaret, we dated. It wasn't too long before we were saying we loved each other, because of that childhood bond. He was already my best friend, and then he was my boyfriend on top of it.

After awhile, I just knew that your dad was the one. I couldn't think of any circumstance where I would want to spend my life with anybody else. So, that was when I knew that I wanted to marry him. I didn't know he was also planning on proposing to me, but I guess I just beat him to it. I talked with some friends and family about it, and then they all gave me ways to do it, and really good advice about it.

It was on our 3 year anniversary. We had gone out for dinner at a really nice restaurant. He and I had a great time, and spent the entire night talking, and remembering everything that had brought us to that point. When we split the bill, we decided to go on a walk around the city at night, and I kept trying to get myself ready for what I was about to do. I think your dad also wanted to propose to me that night, but when we went up to the roof of our house, I beat him to it.

Taking the biggest breath of my life, I got on one knee. My heart was racing, more so than ever before. Despite all the exciting moments of my life, this is where I was. The most scared I had ever been, but with excitement, not just fear. His eyes widened as he realized what I was going to do.

To this day, I still remember what I said to him that night on the roof. " (y/n) ( middle name) (l/n). You are the love of my life. Everything I have, and everything I am is yours. It has been a very long road to get here. But, I cannot think of anyone else I would rather be here, or anywhere with. Will you marry me?"

His eyes widened more than they had before. Tears were in his eyes, and I thought he was going to say no. But then he wiped his eyes. " Yes!" He said, more happy than I had ever seen him. " Of course I'll marry you!"

He gave me a really big hug, and I hugged him back. That was when I realized. I was engaged to someone I used to spend every day with it. That was something that made me so happy. And then one of the best feelings in the entire world was on the podcast when I made the announcement.

" Hey guys, really big news," I had said. " I proposed to (y/n) last night, and he said yes! We're engaged!" The room erupted into cheers, but that wasn't the good feeling. Nor the comment section congratulating us. No, the best feeling in the world was later. On the podcast, we talked for awhile.

And then Burnie said something to the effect of, " Hey, why don't you bring your fiance in here so we can congratulate him." Or something like that. All I remember it was that it was the first time someone had called (y/n) my fiance. And that was when I remembered realizing, I was getting married to (y/n).

-Present Day-

" Mommy, you're crying," says Sophie after I finish my story. I wipe my tears, and turn to Sophie. I give her a really big smile. " These are happy tears sweetheart," I tell her. " Tears of joy."
