Burnie: Okay, so Gavin. I just need to know. What the hell did you mean by your last question?

Gavin: Okay, so you know how some girls and guys say they have a partner whenever someone does something nice for them?

Barbara: Yeah. I never do that though. Like if they open the door for me, I don't tell them about (y/n), I just tell them 'thanks' or something like that.

Gavin: Right well, I just wanted to know if there was something that let people know you were together. Like, some sort of signal

Gus ( sarcastically and playfully): Yeah, there is dumbass. It's called public displays of affection, and oh yeah, wedding rings!

Barbara: Okay, in Gavin's defense though. If we could get some sort of signal that shows we're together, (y/n) and I would have a much easier time

Gus: No, you can't tell me people assume the two of you aren't together. You got voted cutest couple in the office.

You: Well yeah ( turns to camera) and thanks for that one guys. But, there are a lot of people who see me and Barbara, and just assume she's way out of my league or something

Gavin: So, people actually see you two in public, and they don't just know that you two are together?

Barbara: Well, it got slightly better over the years, but yeah there are times when people actually see us in public, and go to hit on one of us.

You: Yeah, it's usually her though. I remember this one time...

-Flashback your pov-

I forget why, but she and I were on a bus somewhere. This was before we were married, but we had been dating for awhile. I had taken the window seat, since Barb gets a little claustrophobic, and I just like the window seat. I always get tired on buses, so I was on the verge of passing out. She had rested my head on her lap, and was slowly stroking my hair. At one of the stops, some new guy got on the bus. Even though the bus was relatively empty, he went and sat right next to Barbara. I didn't think much of it, but I thought it was kinda weird.

He turned to her, and started flirting with her. It went on for awhile, because Barbara was waiting for him to realize that she was with me. I mean, she was still stroking my hair, and what not. Eventually she told him outright, " Uh, this is my boyfriend."

To his credit, he backed off right away, which was helpful. He just stopped talking to her, and went on his phone and started playing some game. When his stop came, he stood up and turned to me and Barbara. " I'm sorry I hit on you," he said. " I just thought the two of you were siblings."

That made me and Barb laugh. First of all, she and I don't look all that alike, and second of all, if we were siblings it was creepy that she was stroking my hair. But, that was a new one. I had never been confused for her brother before.

-Present Day your pov-

Gavin: Yeah, I've met your brothers Barbara, and they don't look anything like (y/n)

Barbara: Yeah, but you know. Some people have also assumed he was gay, or that I was or something.

Gus: Do the wedding rings not tip them off?

Barbara: Yeah. It hasn't happened as much since we got the wedding rings, but there was this one time in particular...

-Flashback her pov-

It was after (y/n) and I got back from our honeymoon, and we were in a bar with Gavin and Meg getting caught up. She and I had gone up to the counter to pick up the next round of drinks, and we were just talking to the bartender since we had gone to this bar a lot. When we looked back over to (y/n) and Gavin, some drunk girls were hitting on them, and they looked actually uncomfortable.

Meg and I were watching, not worried they would cheat on us, just curious about how they would handle the situation. We couldn't hear what Gavin and (y/n) were saying, but the drunk girls were super loud. They kept saying it didn't matter that they were in relationships, and that there partners would never know.

They said something to the effect of, " We don't bite." That was when Meg and I walked over. I showed them my wedding ring, and then kissed (y/n) on the forehead. I told them that they might not bite, but I do if they kept flirting with my husband.

Their eyes got really wide, and then they left.

-Present Day your pov-

Gus: Wow Barb. You bite? Jealous much?

Barbara: No, I don't get jealous. I get territorial. There's a difference .

Gus ( sarcastically): Yeah, because that's so much better

Barbara ( somewhat defensively): No, it is better. There really is an important difference

Gus: Oh okay. Then to you, what is the difference between jealous and territorial

Barbara: Jealous is when you see someone have something that isn't yours, and want it. Territorial is when something is yours, and then you want to protect it.

Gus ( sort of jokingly, and seriously): Oh, so (y/n) belongs to you? He's yours?

Barbara: Yes, he is mine. My partner. My husband. My best friend. My other half. My better half. The love of my life. My soulmate. So, yes Gus I would say he's mine. (y/n), do you have anything to say?

You: Yeah, of course I'm yours Barb. All those things I am for you? You're that for me to. Like you said everything I have, and everything I have is yours.

As the podcast awes, you go over and kiss her deeply. She returns it, and places her hands on the back of your head, deepening the kiss.

Burnie ( jokingly): Whoa, whoa guys. Get a room!

You laugh, and then pull away from the kiss. The two of you keep holding hands, and you smile seeing your other half. Resting your head on her shoulder, you mutter into her ear that you love her. " I love you too (y/n)," she says, your 5 favorite words.
